 hi to everyone,

there is a friend of mine in depresssion, he has been in the states for little over 4 years.... his situation can't be worst than this.

.. to explain, he quit college 2yrs ago, he wrecked his car while driving under influence, doesn't speak at all about the problems, cries often, don't eat anything, short circuited his laptop by spilling wine over,no showers, sleeps day and night, walks to the nearby grocery store to get  wine and gutkha  early in the morning while other are asleep. all my friends including his own cousins are totally tired and can't take this anymore. he owes more than 4 months rent and groceries close to $ 1000 per guy. his depression, thoughts, manners, almost zero english skills are disliked at workplaces so in past few months he couldn't stay in  jobs more than a week..  at this difficult time our small circle of close friends and his relatives have decided to do whatever it takes to send him to nepal at the least cost. but he totally denies to go to nepal, he would rather be homelesss here in states. his family is not supportive either.

this is the case wid him. we at this point are looking for ways to send him back.  we would be more than happy to hear  coool sajhaities opinions, ideas, similar experiences and advices...   thank you alll and happy holidays...

Thanks, but no thanks. Nepal doesn't want him back.

You think Nepal is like a dustbin or something where you throw all your wastes, losers and corpses?

Why should we take him back?

All his life he wanted to get away from Nepal. And now when he cannot make it, you want us to embrace him again?

Nepal is not your father's PEWA.

It is not only this depressed retard. That goes for all of you so-called NRNs.

DO NOT COME BACK !!

WE DON"T NEED YOU.

@citizen of Nepal:  Who are you to say we dont need him. This guy might be hiome sick and depressed . You have no right to say you dont need him. He is Nepali and he have every rights to be in nepal. You don need him are you one to take care of him. Ask your parents and family how much they need you.

YOU SUCK a big time

@citizen:
Looking at your comment,  I dont think you are a Nepali.
"jun goru ko sing chaina usko naam thikhe"
You dont deserve to be in Nepal on the first hand.

This could be a serious issue and it should be handled as such.

USA is not for everybody. While there are thousands, if not millions, who cannot speak English well in this country; language impediment will make life harder in the states for minority group like ours. We don’t have large communities like Chinese, Spanish etc and as such the weakness is more exposed.

Depression is a serious issue and could have serious implications. Sometimes change in environment could help and I kind of agree with your assessment of sending him back. Language issue won’t be a problem there and he will have people to care for him, at least compared to US. However, forcefully sending him could be bad.

I would arrange a surprise intervention for him. All the friends gather up and when he gets home you ask him to sit down as you guys want to talk to him. Tell him that you all care for him. Tell him he is not a failure but he just needs a change of scenario. Tell him he is better off in Nepal. Offer to pay partially for his ticket since you all sincerely care for him.

Depression can be dangerous, take it seriously and act fast.
Hope that helps.

@Kundan Ghimere....I am a Citizen of Nepal to say what I did. DUH !

As a Citizen of the country, only I have the right to say what I did.

I don't need to ask my parents or my country how much they need me. My love for my country and parents is "UNCONDITIONAL" and the fact that I am in Nepal serving them is testament to my commitment.

My sympathy for the guy in question aside, tell me what has he ever done for Nepal that should compel us to take him back? Has he ever paid tax to Nepal? I think not. Most probably, he has been paying tax to Uncle Sam from the very first time he started earning. Besides, wasn't he the one who decided to give up Nepali citizenship on his own will? And so, tell me why should we take him back?

What an idiot?

According to citizen of nepal's logic, if a Nepali goes to India to study then he should not come back to Nepal.

Citizen of Nepal, you need to sharpen your logic and reasoning skills before you open your mouth and show how stupid you are.

@citizen of nepal, nepal as a country is not your father's land. You have got no right to stop someone coming back to his homeland. Keep your patriotism with you, we are patriots living abroad as well. We all have purposes. You are envy because we're here and if you wrote that statement just cause of that , it's pretty understandable.

This guy who is depressed needs help. Dunno how..
May be some rehab centers??
