Hi guys, I am going to start my MS at University of Nebraska at Omaha. I am pretty new there and would like to know more about the area,the campus community and  what area  near UNO  would be better to commute to school and in terms of good neighborhood. Please share your experience about UNO or the place if you know about.

IwasThere4awhile. UNO very reputed University. The location of UNO is good. Omaha itself is a very nice environment.Quite a number of Nepali students.

When did you arrive here?

UNO sucks really bad man..there ain't any chicks man. the graduate computer science has only a couple of nepali chicks and man all guys after them..if u come with ur own chicks then it's good else it's crazy out here..man all BOKAS only...

Sanuman....First of all this guy didn't ask you about  KT. He said how is the place and how is school. U don't need to get smart here. If you are really looking for nepali KT there are party's organized by nepalese in Omaha and u can see/meet tons of nepali KT.

Please could you tell me Lincoln or Omaha which is better for PhD in Civil engineering?
How is Lincoln? People,Campus,Apartment,Nepalese Community,Research available, Professors etc.
Your kind informations are highly appreciated.

I personally know couple of friends doing their PhD there in Civil engineering. They are doing great.

haha just saw this post...if ur coming for MIS ur one heck of a smart guy..if ur coming for Computer Science then there must be butt crack in ur mind ( i had mine sadly)...nepali community ..too helpful...neapli guys frm UNO ..will do everythng to help u if ur a gal..some effort to help u if ur a guy....

afu baru jahile kt sita chipkera bascha hola...aru lai j paye tyahi bhanni...ani nepguysUS when are you coming..because at the peak season its really hard to get room in the crosswinds which is just across the college..so you better let your contacts know when your going to come..any new nepalese is coming or not ..or if there is accomodation with in the guys who are already living here..

UNO is a nice community...few Nepali but still nice..college is good...MIS program is really good..

try to confirm your scholarship before coming to UNO otherwise u might be screwed up if u have to pay the full tution..apply for college jobs before coming to Omaha...

there are apartments right across the street from UNO or u can opt to live a couple of miles away at reasonable price.. and one more thing be prepared for the crappiest weather..snows a lot in winter, humid, hot summer and windy as hell at times..
