Yo Loots,

She is not saying she is conceding, and Barak is not declaring victory either. Hillary is not going to campaigning as of tonight. ha ha ha Which means we still don't have a democratic candidate. And Hillary is going after Baraks Super-Delegates now. This thing is faaaar from over LOOTS. The soap opera just started.

Latoboy

As if Clinton doesn't - she too has talked about raising the capital gains tax to where it was under her husband - close to 25 or 30% if I recall correctly. Obama has talked about raising the payroll cap but  he plans to waive certain taxes on those making less than 55K.

Both Democrats and Republicans want to tax you but differ on who should bear the heaviest burden in my opinion. The Democrats would rather shift the burden to higher income people and the Republicans to lower income ones both in the name of "fairness".  Democrats maybe accused of being tax and spend liberals but  the Republicans  have proved themselves to be borrow and spend conservatives which I think is far worse. McCain is  the most reckless of the three candidates on fiscal discipline as he seems to want to continue borrow from China and Japan to spend on Iraq and pass on the debt onto future generations.

Just my thoughts.

Hello everyone,

my question is "why should Hillary concede the nomination to Obama, why????"

she has been winning primaries, caucas and doing well. I know Obama is closer to nominations but why should she concede? In the republicans, after Mitt Romney dropped out, Huckabee continued till McCain got the required no of delegates. Huckabee's position was far lower than that of Hillary at present, in terms of experience, delegates, winning enthusiams and rest. If Huckabee continued  till the last moment, why should not she. She is the most promising women in USA at present, has better plans, than Obama (May be being a little biased to Hillary). what has Obama done in his ten years into politics. I know he speaks great, but is that all what we want at this most-crisis-period in USA.

Dialogue is the best solution he thinks to the present terror from Muslims terrorist, he himself a Muslim. But how practical is that ?? Do you think Osama-Bin Laden would stop attacking USA and its allies just because he gets influenced by Obama's speech?? regarding tax stuffs, the economy and rest, i think ppl in USA would live in period of hardship rather than life of terror from terrorist?? If obama gets elected, would the US troop be back to USA on Jan 21,2009.NO way, never. It would take at least 2.5-3 yrs to get all of them back. adn 2009+3 =2012, which is a year earlier than McCain's 2013. (saves a few million dollars but the threat??)

I think obama is too green to handle this complicated situation at present, either Hillary or McCain is a better choice, though McCain seems to be the best choice at present.

Just my personal thought, which i am free to express.

Obama a Muslim? And Reverend Wright is a Zoroastrian, McCain  a Scientologist and Bush a Satanist.

well that was a little careless on my part, it should have been  accused of being a muslim(in the past). but sathiho hawa nalagi pat hallidaina. I remembered him in muslim attire. He might have some compassion for Islam (again a personal view).  no matter what... but the main thing is: his approach to solve the problem of terrorism with Muslim terrorist (as USA tagged them) is  tooooooooo easier said than done.

Have been a big Clinton supporter but with Obama finally getting over the hump with the delegates needed to be officially a democratic nominee, here's "Yes, we can".

Nepali Man6e

His father was a Muslim who was largely secular. His mom and grand parents (who raised him) were Christians and his mom was also pretty secular based on what's been written about her. Reverend Wright, incase we forget, was not an Imam. Even if Obama were a Muslim,  how does his religion affect his ability to govern anymore than John McCain's or George Bush's?

You could argue he is green but I am not sure how much of a big deal that is. That's for the voters  to decide when they vote in November.

Hey Capt. Haddock,
nice name,

Lets agree to disagree. Well there is no reason to support the same candidate. above all.... i am not going to cast my vote, infact I dont have right to.  but personally, I dont want Obama as the new prez of US, for reasons i mentioned above. ppl are and should differ to what i think. Anyways, I respect your personal views.

Nepaliman6e,

AP has already declared, as of 2PM EST, that Obama has effectively clinched the nomination. If Clinton still continues after tonight, then she will be a sore loser!! It's not media that is unfairly treating Hillary; it's her own husband who is doing it, continuing to "seeing other women" on the campaign trail. Then blame it on media and Obama campaign for unfairly treating Hillary! You proably are one of those who think that Hillary is "entitled" to be the president. Dream on. Fair and Square, Obama has won the nomination.

Talk about plans, Clinton is a panderer. And when policymakers don't agree with her, as they did on her gas-tax holiday plan, she calls them elitist. She has clearly demonstrated in this campaign that she will say anything to get elected!

I don't even want to go on some of your other statements and accusations; you obviously don't know the facts and rely on rumors.

He he SSNY,  I  hope  the two of them come together in a meaningful way over the next couple of days, weeks and months. Also, the Obama folks should prolly start singing more of  "How we can". I think  this is going to be closely fought general.

RCP  projects him ahead of McCain both interms of popular and electoral college votes as of today. I hope he can hold onto and best the margin in the days ahead.

NepaliMan6e

I am not asking you to support the same candidate - good luck with McCain - he's gonna need lots of it I am sure. I am merely calling out and clarifying the  incorrect statements you posted about Obama.

Best wishes.

McCauliffe should stop sniffing the white stuff he is on and smell the coffee. Alas, his job is that of a spin doctor and he's gotta to what he's gotta do.

This race is over and has been so since Indiana/NC in my opinion. The question now is not if Obama has won but how Hillary will leave. I hope she leaves gracefully and pulls together for the party. Hats off to her for a spirited campaign, which in spite of occasional nastiness, might eventually prove beneficial to the Democrats in the fall.

Nepali man6y

So you want McCain to continue all the failed policy that Bush started then huh !! Take this country from bad to worse ? he he I mean you have your right to support whoever but at the same time your reasons for supporting McCain does not hold water. Besides he is going to the the oldest President ever to be elected. Now I do not want a president to go Senile while holding office(not that he would but there is a possibility).

I do not like Clinton because she is acting like an elitist. Now if it was anyone else ... they would not have challenged the Democratic party rules like she did last weekend. Did anyone see the debate ? In January when she was ahead in the pols she actually advocated to have those votes to be discarded. But now that she is losing she wants them included to up her numbers. Now to me this shows the color of a true politician manuvering for what we call that KURSIII. I feel as if she will do anything to win that nomination.
