.Loote Puppy-turned-into-doggy - Hi, how are you? You can list anything that you are reading, not necessarily it has to be my poker face. DUH!

Camo - Hey, Chu kha pasa? Thought you would at least support me being your hommie, instead back-stab me huh? ;-) Hope all is well. I have not quite started, but the author's note itself swept me off my feet. It's "The life of Pi" by Yann Martel. I've heard good reviews about it, hopefully it will be a good read.

LOL! flips, me doing pretty good. hope alls well with you.

the life of pi is an awesome philosophical read but confounding as well at many places. you may have to read stuffs twice or sometimes even thrice to understand what you just read hahaha. good thing about it is, it doesn't fall into easy categories of parable and rest assured, it will make you visualize life from a different perspective.

if i remember, one of the many things that it says is: everything we need to survive--and not just survive, but thrive and prosper and grow--has already been given to us, if we will but realize it. lightening flashes, sparks shower, in one blink of your eyes, you have missed seeing :D

btw, i am reading (just started) 'between father and son' by v.s. naipaul ;). my dad recommended so i had to :P

Oh well!! I guess I would look stupid to say this (if u guys think otherwise:p) but I have never read a single book(whole) in my life. The closet I came was "Autobiography of a Yogi", in which I read 21 of the 52 chapters. That was a hell of a book. In every freaking paragraph I had to consult dictionary for atleast 5-8 words. Later my book had more words for the meaning than the actual words written over there.
So my suggestion would be to read Time Magazine(oh ya!! online version, so that i would get the meaning with just a doubel click).Coz, When I stumble with words, I am too lazy to check my dog-eared dictionary:p. I just dont wanna read smthing just to get my tally up, I like to go words by words. But I gotta admit that I do have to make a habit of reading "thick" books. So far I havent been able to.

So any suggestion for a novice reader like me? Chacha Chaudhari or Super Commando Dhruba:p, which one would be better for start??

Hey Flips, I hope that "Black" Flippy wasn't you whom I ignored:)

Hi all,

Gonna start 'Love in the time of cholera' soon. I generally wouldn't pick a book titled as such but had read the '100 years of solitude' fro the same author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and have become a fan of his writing.

'The life of pi' sound interesting . I read 'e=mc^2 , the biography of the world's most famous equation' earlier this year and enjoyed it. I don't know if life of pi is similar along the lines. Just checked the wiki though and it is nowhere near what I thought, but it still sounds interesting..
