Please post the fabulous songs/sounds from the decade that are NOT cliche-numbers yet (may have been) under-rated or forgotten.

Here is my first one.

The artist did not score nearly half a dozen wives for nothing. Here is Rod Stewart singing '...Young Hearts will be free tonite..'. This one should suit since it's a long weekend.

I my school life spanned the entire decade of the eighties. Glad to be nostalgic. Still now, my iPod is filled with hundreds of '80s songs. Kudos to TM for starting this thread. Thanks to ruchi for sharing more music.

What part of '80s music do you like the most? the post-disco electro pop? The hair bands?

I would like to contribute some videos myself ... later on during the week.

Thanks to Ruchi and Dautari for sharing your thoughts and/or the videos.

Here is a number which was a serious threat to the songs of George Michael's ''Faith' album in 1988.

NB: Rick Astley was only 21 when his talent, hardwork, and most importantly luck intersected.

Well, it was 1990 but it still felt like the eighties. Bhushan Dahal played this on his "Sunday Pop" and it became huge. Girl started tying their shirts in a knot like the girl on the video .. and we boys of course did not mind.

Modern Talking was a favorite band among girls back then. But I liked them too - Modern Talking, I mean. Most boys didn't.

Here comes a very sexy song from that era. Perhaps this song can be attributed to the fact he landed Claudia Schiffer (you know where? not necessarily on the bed).

Even Robert Kiyosaki mentions an excerpt from the lyrics of this song.
"..take your passion and make it happen.." so as to encourage a reader who wishes to achieve something in life.
The song definitely defined the tune during its time.
