Recently dealing with lot of anxiety. Due to anxiety not able to move in life . Due to anxiety not even able to change jobs, currently living in NYC and so depend on public transport and failed my driving already 4 times. This is building up my anxiety each time I think about driving and moving out. If somebody was in same situation how you cope up with this situation. Does anybody tried therapist how it works. Helps will be appreciated.

R u mr logan ? He has similar issues that u r dealing.

Talking to the point,people will never understand what anxiety is unless ur dealing wid it or someone in your family has it . My ex gf had it . It started when c changed her job. New place , new job ,new environment , everything new . She keep on complaining me about it but i never understand whats going on as everything to me was looking normal until c brust .

Did onlin research , councling but nothing work except mediation. C is fine now . Try meditation not in home but with some experts it will work.

Seeing a therapist and getting medication definitely helps a lot.

If its just anxity (not depreesion) mediation will not work , behavioural change will work. And while on sajha never seek advise from nas bhai and logan bhai, they will topp depression on your anxiety. They just simply have no normal life . Listen to normal people not extremists.

Frustated me bro first off dont get frustrated your problems might seem minor to others. As far as driving, its the easiest thing to do I recommend moving out of NY and going to easy peasy places like texas where even tortoises can fly cars lol. Then sometimes jogging and minor activities help relieve anxiety too. If it makes you feel better, I found subways in NY to be more frustrating than driving cars lol.

After failing the driving test multiple times this anxiety started . Now I am at the point whenever somebody talks about driving license I got anxiety . I even took lot of driving class and whenever on test I got this nervousness so high I screw up. Just hoping if there is any easy suburb place to get license. I can notice this frustration is slowly building up in my mind and creating anxiety.

@frustratedme bro, I understand it's easier said than done but try not thinking too much. If it helps don't try for driver license for a few months. It is very normal to fail a few times.

Btw, which car did you ride while taking the road test?

And yeah, do keep us posted.

I would suggest starting slow like go for a walk on a regular basis. may be 30 mins then to an hour. Walking helps clear mind and also it's a good basic workout. It might sound very simple and basic but taking care of your body physically has a lot of impact on mental health too. Hope it helps!

Studies have found that more and more anxiety and stress are caused by mainstream media and social media. Mainstream media makes a person feel like they have to live in fear constantly. These media gain popularity and audience by peddling fear and uncertainty so that people keep coming back to watch their show and thus they make profit while their viewers are made to live in fear. Turn on the news and you will see how the world seems like a worst place to live but if you don't watch TV and enjoy your neighbors, friends, enjoy the weather, the walks, etc, then life is amazing and great. So stay away from media / news.

Social media is a source of anxiety and stress for many as they do not know how to cope with their apparent failures in life as all they see is people posting pictures of happiness and greatness and success. This makes people feel like failures and thus despair.

Life makes people into two categories of mindset. One mindset is that of being at comfort level with one's existence so that external influences do not impact one's happiness and the other mindset is the one that blows with the wind. These mindset tries to hang on to different things they see in media and social media which tries to define what being cool is and what is needed for happiness. So they get blown by every gush of wind in different directions, always trying a find a meaning in life. Trying to be accepted. These type of people will find anxiety and stress to be their attachment if they don't try to break away from the status quo.

I am logging to Sajha.com after decades.
Just want to help a fellow Nepali. I've had and still have anxiety, but I'm very much in control over it.
1. Know the trigger
What is it? Job? Relationship? Money? Family? Responsibility? Driving (your case)?.Try to fix the trigger. Stay away from people who cause it, even if it means your family. If you cannot, then solve the issue. If you cannot fix it, then you have to train your brain to let it go. It is ok not to make too much money like you want to, live with that peace of mind. It is ok, if you're not as successful as your brother, let it go and train your mind to rest and not think about it.
2. Alcohol
This is the killer for anxiety. You might feel like it is helping but in reality alcohol will make it worse and things will get worse as you age. Quit it ASAP. I gave up after more than 30 years of drinking. It is not easy but it is one of the most important thing to do.
3. Sleep
Get 6-8 hours of sleep everyday. Avoid TV, phone 2-3 hours before you sleep. Read a book, listen to music, be in a quiet dark room and relax your mind and body. Avoid exercise, talking to people or doing anything important at night.
4. Exercise
It has to be cardio, something that will make you sweat. Aerobics is a great choice as well.
5. Yoga
Primarily breathing exercise, that is one of the most important way to calm anxiety. Many different type of breathing exercise exist, so explore each and every one of them and do it in the morning every day, no excuse.
6. Meditation
Guided meditation every morning in a quiet place 15-45 minutes everyday. This will train your mind to focus on the present and not let your mind wander.
7, Nature
Hiking and walking in nature will arouse the happy hormone. So instead of watching some stupid TV shows, get up and take a hike.
8. Talking to people
Socializing is very important and talking to people will calm and supress your anxiety. Living alone and staying away from people is a bad combination for anxiety.
9. Music
Learn to play music or atleast spend time to listen to them everyday.
10. Paint
It has a soothing effect on your brain and keeps you grounded and focused on the present. Very good idea to pick up that habit
11. Pet
Dogs and cat will lower your stress and anxiety and make you happy. I have a dog and I love her, she makes me happy and I take care of her like a children, we have an amazing bond. I cannot fathom my life without my dog.
12. Gut health
Keep your stomach health clean. Your stomach is the 2nd brain and it controls your brain and most other parts of your body. Eat healthy. Stay away from spicy, oily, fatty and processed food. Cook, eat healthy. Eat more veges and fruits.
13. Social Media
Stay away from it, it is the newest poison fro people with anxiety and depression. 

If you do these everyday, then you will see the change in your life. I've had really bad many years ago. I am fine now because I do most of the above point everyday. You will NOT recover in a week or a month. But in few months, you will see the difference. But you have to stay active and keep doing them.

That was the best suggestion ever seen in Sajha.
Most of us know what to do, but we have no will to follow, if we follow we must be diligent and consistent ( a daily routine ).

all the suggestions given above, they might cure the symptoms and u might feel good for few days but eventually it will come back. only way to deal with it is go for the root cause and solve it. so be honest with ur self and ask urself the question, what is it that is bothering you so much. DEEP DOWN, IN UR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND. USUALLY IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH GUILT, SHAME, ANGER. and people find it hard to admit it at first. they are ashamed of it. so if possible, try to own up and solve the original problem. but its not possible for most cases, because those problems are usually old and lot of time have already passed. in those cases, its beneficial to take the help of a therapist. he will help u look at the problem from a different perspective. u will realize what ever happened, it was not ur fault at all. in fact, u had no choice but to act in the way u acted. any sensible person in ur shoes would have acted in the way u did. life is not fair and we all come from different places in life. so u r the last person to be blamed for whatever happened.
this new outlook in life will make life easier for u. and will solve ur problem forever. u can develop this outlook in life on your own through reading books, watching videos. but it will take a lot longer than if u visited a therapist.
