It’s between 40-45 lakh per Anna. Deepends on buying whole or part.

Why are people in Nepal are richer than those in US with professional job?
I can't even dream to buy in that price. I am in U.S. since last 15 years with professional job.

Most people who want straight forward job they move outside of Nepal. They get paid for what they work.

Others who know how to milk the system with source force and ghus and chakadi and corruption will stay in Nepal and make a lot of money. Probably 1 to 5% of population falls in this category and they are the ones who hold all the money power because they are connected to politicians or know how to get benefit from politician by bribing them.

The rest of Nepalis are hoping lord pasupati nath will do something for them.

Ha ha Wonton le bhaneko kura sarhai ramro lagyo. It is not that you stated anything new but I could not articulate the thought that come to my mind initially and you had it right. Also probably Wontons statement is true for Manila, Monrovia and Hydrabaad, in addition to Kathmandu land prices.

Sanghai and SFO are no exceptions either.

While Nepal is to blame; did u see the HUD and Inner City Housing Situation documentary by Frontline & PBS that came out recently. I was wondering what people here think about it?

40-45 lakh per aana ? Lol ... 2 Crore ($200k ) or more just to buy a land in Nepal ? Who the fk with right mind would buy it ?
It takes 10-15 years to make $200k in US .

40-45 is nothing compare to some land in Putalisadak , New road, etc....Nepali people , the wealthy ones form ktm look at us with pity, with came compassion and same level of respect they have for people working in Qatar. I stopped going there few years ago because it would seriously mess me up mentally if i stayed there for more than 2 weeks.

Jagga value is BS man. Most people in KTM may be sitting on land worth 50 lakhs per ana but their lifestyle isn't much better than the bottom 10% here. Same old disgusting roads, pollution, dingy streets, overcrowded microbus, insecticide laden vegetables and fruits and the same old knockoff clothing and electronics from China.

Even if someone wanted to sell their land for some money, There are hardly any buyers at that price. Only way that price would be warranted would be if the country grew at 8% of GDP each year for the next 10 years. Otherwise its just make believe money to make people feel good about how 'rich' they are.

Maile euta news herdaithiye hijo asti bharkhar. It was about bus ko kar on the roads. If real kar is Rs100, the persons were taking Rs250 and only writing Rs100 on the bill. Nobody looks at the billls or even argues. Now imagine how much they earn on the side.

I really wonder who the hell is making money like that and buying land in Ktm . Does land in Ktm even sells any more. The city is practically unlivable , most youth are out of country , money comes as remittance and most family spend it on day to day things. Those in western world hardly send any. Govt hardly makes any laws to make society progressive . Still land value is insane. How land value is still so high, even if there are hardly any buyer.

You guys in the US are underestimating the purchasing power of people in Nepal, especially in Kathmandu. New house construction (just material and labor) in about 4 annas of land will cost about 1 caror rupees (10 Million Rupees or roughly about USD 100,000). Just look at some of the house buy/sell Facebook pages or real estate websites of Nepal, house prices in 4 annas of land cost in excess of 2 caror rupees (USD 200,000).

Whether you like living in Kathmandu or not, it is the current reality of Nepal (Kathmandu). Despite the inflation, land transactions are ongoing and new houses are being built in Kathmandu. Just FYI, these days you can find branded Italian or American bathroom accessories in hardware stores in Kathmandu. There are companies that model kitchen that would challenge any kitchen in the the US (You just need to be able to pay).

In Nepal they'll only sell at their asking price cuz they can wait. They don't mind waiting for years. It's a different story here in US . If you can't sell your house in the specified time you go bankrupt or you can't do anything else , so you'll have to pay at the market price or lower .
In Nepal if your land is good, there will be buyers at asking price.
