I'm wondering why Nepalese newspapers aren't paying attention to this serious issue while they are publishing some baseless bogus news like Salman khan and Akshay Kumar's donating to earthquake victims. I hope this will come to the Nepalese media attention soon.

Those who do these misery onto others need to be dealt seriously. Their conscience has become numb, only chastising will help them.

I also hope those douche nozzles will be punished severely with a hail of rocks or more significant than that.

Divorcedguy dai,
Hajurle tyo mathi ko link hernu bhayo? My main intention was to share the news as I didn't see any Nepalese media attention on this.

@Shruti_P: Divorceguy is a piece of trash. He is uneducated and has never used his brain in his pathetic life. Don't call him Dai. Call him trash.

This is very sad. Nepali journalists are busy covering the news of corrupted Ganesh Thapa distributing relief materials. They don't have time for genuine issues.

Armed Police Force have won the heart of lot of people. But Nepali Police is one of the corrupted institution. If you follow the trafficking issues, you'll see the activists complaining about police not registering their sex trafficking cases. These activists didn't name the politicians, but said that the politicians are linked to these sex traffickers. Politicians from these hard hit areas, such as Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot always make to Nepal Cabinet, but they've not done much to tackle this issue. There was a notorious trafficker named "bajeer" or something. He was finally caught last year but threatened in front of camera that he'll be released soon and will take revenge on accusers and boasted about his relation with politicians. He was sentenced for several years but died recently.

It is very sad to read about women being sold for a couple of hundred dollars.

After watching recent interviews of Bam Dev and Ram Sharan, I think these guys are not working to serve Nepal and don't care for Nepalese. It's pity that we've inept, ill and oldie like Sushil leading our nation. Ram Sharan is neither inept, ill or oldie, but he didn't make a single step out of his palace to meet with any single victim. Mr. President had the time to go to tundikhel to take the blessing of Ram Dev on the previous day of earthquake.

Supernova_nepal,
Yes, I sometimes look at his posts/comments. I never take insults, abuses easily, that's why I called him 'dai'. Calling him a brother is my defense mechanism. Lol.

Metta,
"These activists didn't name the politicians, but said that the politicians are linked to these sex traffickers."

This sounds so intense and excruciating. The immorality of some people is beyond comprehension.
When I read news about sex trafficking, I image those ghetto brothels and that hell scenario on my mind, which I have seen in Hindi movies. Pictures come on my mind with Nepalese girls/women in that situation. Oh, god, it feels a sweating nightmare.
The furthermore disturbing fact is, even though, these victims escape and go home then their own family and society rejects them. They won't have any option to survive and eventually forced to go back to sex work or commit suicide. This is extremely serious.
Problem is everywhere in our country.

@Shruti_P....... I can feel your agony. Sex trafficking was always a big problem in Nepal. But, this earthquake left Nepal in more vulnerable state and criminals know that this is the best time to operate their criminal activities because everybody's attention is on earthquake right now. I have always been advocating that the open border between Nepal and India should be controlled and managed with strict rules. A transit visa system should be applied at the border. This will also check the unwanted crossing between the border.
If we really want to see a prosperous country, we must bring lofty thoughts in our minds and establish a culture of mutual cooperation and respect between Nepalese people (We can learn this from Japanese). If we are not united, then our own forces becomes weak and foreign power can exploit such circumstances which you can see now. A good management in the upper level is needed if we really want to move forward. With present politicians, the chances are low but we as a united Nepali can always start working from grass root level. What kind of Nepal we want to hand over to our grandchildren depends on what kind of thoughts Nepalese people are entertaining right now. All actions are propelled by our thoughts. So, we should always scrutinize our thoughts and check it if our thoughts are in harmonious relation with the environment and society outside.

Ujl ji,
Well said Ujl ji. I agree with you. In fact, the majority of the educated mass of Nepal has been aware of the fact that the open border between Nepal and India might have the most significant impact on this issue. But the reality is India has always been at power to control Nepal.
I wish I could write like you guys. But, I am still immature to talk about politics. However, I do conceive that we've lots of flaws, corruption in our system but I think it is all originated from the educational background.
In my opinion, educating kids at least from middle school, in more effective ways about humanity, generosity, compassion, kindness, gentleness, diligence etc are the most important factors to create a responsible and foresighted person. Then ultimately they will make a good family, learn about mutual cooperation and respect each other.
I have read somewhere that you are planning to open a 'Gurukul' in Nepal, soon or later. I hope that will be a model. I hope your institute will start teaching these basic things to be a good human first and then philosophy, Science etc. These attributes will grow good people for a family and the society and eventually for the Nation.
Look at our current situation in Nepal. What gives me a headache is the way our countrymen show patriotism: if Indian actors and media say something stupid then they protest violently, damaging own nation's property. But the same people don't seem to care much about our girls being trafficked across the border. Also, they don't seem to be able to do anything against border encroachment. People do these stupid things because of lack of proper education(awareness) and solidarity. So, I think proper education is the way out for our society.

@Shruti_P.... I totally agree with you. Nepal must invest in educating all of its children. By educating, I don't mean the present education system. The present education system is good for nothing where you have to sit in a exam hall for 3 hours writing essays. More practical based training is required to teachers of Nepal as well so that they can impart their applied knowledge to children. Our values in life must be uplifted so that Nepalese people don't cheat their own fellow Nepalese. I was in Nepal last summer and went to Swambhunath to see the whole Kathmandu. I decided to buy an orange juice and went to a shop owned by a Newari guy. I asked how much was it and he said Rs.30. I gave him Rs.50 and later he found he didn't have change and said me, oh it is Rs.40. We cheat our own people. This is only 1 example which I experienced in a random day. You can imagine how many others are cheated everyday in every field. This is sad and is the result of bad culture and not educating people properly.

@shruti_p: Nepal needs you. Would you like to go back to our nation and revolutionize everything? I believe you are the only one who can grab this by the throat and shake it to its very foundation. You are our only hope.

Aww, you mean, I'm capable to revolutionize the whole nation? Really? :D
Touche!

Hey, Supernova, how often do you visit sajha? I've been visiting this site for about 2 years. Actually, I was aware that I might sound like a preacher, expecting someone to come and pass a comment like yours. Because that happens here often, when people start talking sensibly.
Have you read this part of my comment to Ujl ji above, yet? "I have read somewhere that you are planning to open a 'Gurukul' in Nepal, soon or later. I hope that will be a model."
When I found that Ujl ji is planning to open the 'Gurukul' in Nepal, I decided to share my thoughts about Nepali people with him, otherwise, I barely comment on others' thread.

It seems like you are new to here. Believe me your type of comments especially on divorceguy, we've been reading gazillion times already. Don't you think many people already might get tired of reading the same hackneyed comments? Well, maybe some people r gettin' entertained by him, that's why they keep provoking him.
I suggest u to stop followin' divorceguy bro anymore and pay attention to other threads like what others (who returned to their foreign lands after visiting Nepal) have to say about Nepal and Nepalese. Somebody here in sajha even doesn't want to be called a Nepali anymore. Isn't that sad? Don't you think that people in Nepal should change their attitude?
I feel like I'm enjoying giving suggestions to people, duh!

@Shruti_P: First of all, What's up with "ji" after Ujl? LMAO!! That's so Indian and as Nepalese, we have to stay away from their culture and the way they speak to start the revolution. Yes, I am new to this site and I like busting divorceguy's balls because he is literally a dickhead. Another piece of garbage is sajhasexy. My kind suggestion to you is to join politics in Nepal and I will make sure that you will be the prime minister for many years as long as you do the right thing. You just have to wear a bulletproof suit and a helmet 24/7 so that you don't get shot like Benazir Bhutto.

Supernova-San,
Do I sound like a Japanese now? Would this help to start the revolution? Thank you for finding me a capable to be the prime minister of our country. तर, हाम्रो नेपालमा प्रधान मन्त्रि हुन योग्य उमेरको रिक्वायार्र्मेंट मा पुग्न त मैले अझै ४५ -५० वर्ष कुर्नुपर्ने देखियो.Until then I hope you stay healthy with normal blood pressure, heart rate and balanced brain waves to see me as the prime minister. You're my only inspiration so I want u to see me ruling the country. And I'm really grateful to u that u even care about my safety. तर त्यस्तो कस्त्युम त मलाई त्यो उमेरमा अलि भारि होला, अनि मैले कस्त्युमको भार थाम्ने कि देशको भार? Please think about other alternatives for about my safety. We still have 50 more years.
Good luck on your ongoing battle with sajhasexy and divorceguy!

Shruti JI,
Alike you, I respect Indians as much as I respect Nepalese people.

I had been an invisible visitor of sajha.com hitherto and was silently embracing the cyber horseplay with eagerness until I came across your thread. My first take on you was – a common neophyte visitor who merely wants to raise awareness only to be pummeled by some selected combative sajha members with comments laden with sexism, misogyny and racism. You would then soon realize writing here was a mistake and choose to never visit sajha again. And I was correct on most part, except where you came back swinging but with sheer nobility and maturity that most of us would never dream of possessing.

So my hats off to you, it requires significant amount of leadership skills to not combat trolls with replies that match theirs.

Speaking of sex trafficking during troubled times, sadly it will only increase when girls and their parents not only struggle to make ends meet but to have a roof over their head. Amid this, education and awareness become damp squibs when the recipient has to respond to a hungry stomach and find a shelter to beat the monsoon downpour. Quite honestly, if I were a girl as gullible and naïve as them and lived in acute penury and suddenly find myself without food and shelter, thinking as far as what happens in that dark dank Delhi brothel few months later would be the last thing on my mind because a person who offers me an apple would be my god.

So how can we raise more awareness? And unlike some individuals who blame India even when they trip on a pebble maybe we could clean our own house first. Perhaps the local police should have database of Nepalese individuals who frequently visit villages from India, perhaps we should educate individuals but with perks and benefits, perhaps we should adopt those girls and educate them in our household, there are many ‘perhaps’ but to channel them effectively we need more resources and funds.

I spoke to my mother about adopting a girl from Sindhupalchok yesterday, not sure she’d agree, but I did my best.
