Visa Bulletin For July 2013 D. VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS (August - October) FAMILY-sponsored categories (potential monthly movement) Worldwide dates: F1: Up to five weeks F2A: Could become “Current” at some point during the coming months. F2B: Four to seven weeks F3: Three to five weeks F4: Three to five weeks The above projections for the Family and Employment categories are for what is likely to happen during each of the next few months based on current applicant demand patterns. Readers should never assume that recent trends in cut-off date movements are guaranteed for the future, or that “corrective” action will not be required at some point in an effort to maintain number use within the applicable annual limits. The determination of the actual monthly cut-off dates is subject to fluctuations in applicant demand and a number of other variables. Unless indicated, those categories with a “Current” projection will remain so for the foreseeable future. Reference: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5993.html

these words do not make sense to me!!

can anyone please simplify?

for example, the chart says for F4, the cut-off date was 22MAY01. does this mean , a number is available for brother/sister of US citizen who applied before this date?? if it is then they had to wait for 12 years...

are they going to shorten this time period anytime soon?

@ Snowfed_river & Pepsi, The Visa Bulletin for August 2013 doesn't say anything change about F4 so you should have applied before the cut off date, 22 June 2001 to be eligible to apply for your brother and sister of being an adult US citizen. Currently the Bulletin only said only the visa number is current for F2A so permanent residents can apply for spouse and children (unmarried and below 21)from August 2013. There is just no waiting period for F2A since the visa number is current for several months from August 2013. I don't think the waiting period for F4 will be short anytime soon unless the immigration reform get pass from the US House of Representative. Hopefully the outcome of the House will be known by August 2013.

what if I-130 is still pending? My wife is in Nepal. I filed I-130 in March. It is still on Initial Review. When the priority date becomes current on August, can i file I-485 for my spouse or no?

@Menmyself, you can apply I-130 and I-485 concurrently in August 2013 since your wife has a F1 status (living in USA) and visa number is current under F2A category in August 2013. Her I-130 doesn't has to be approved before you file I-485 which is the change of your wife's non-immigrant visa (F1) to immigrant visa (Permanent Resident). http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_6028.html @ Furke & Sudeep Sapkota, You cannot file I-485 for your wife since she is still in Nepal. Overseas applicant has to go for Consular Processing through US Embassy. Even though the priority date become current in August 2013, you cannot file the DS-230 ( Application for Immigration Visa and Alien Registration) to National Visa Center (NVC) until her I-130 get approved from USCIS. Once her I-130 get approved, it will be sent to NVC and NVC will contact you for further processing. Check your processing time for I-130 with your receipt number (I-797C, Notice of Action) under case status on this link. I hope it will help you out. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

@nepali lahure- Thank you so much for the information. Just one more question, if i file I-130 and I-485 together. Under the new bulletin, will she get EDA or will her status change from F1? so, the best time to apply is in August 2013 right. And her case becomes current right. Please advise.

Thank You,
