god is within ourselves and so is the devil. if you manage to suppress devil, you're more of god. if you manage to suppress god, you're more of devil.

You are right. God is both. Either Durga and Mahishashur both God or both evils. One can not exist without the other. So, there is no such thing as good or bad. Going to a temple is going to hell or the vice versa. Without hell, heaven does not exist. One must experience the hell in order to understand heaven. We have to go beyond these two, and that is what Hindus call 'Brahama' or Buddhista call 'Nirvan'.

But no, I think there is bad and it has distinct characteristics. I think the most prominent one is ego. As long as people have ego, they cannot listen to what others are saying. With ego or self-centeredness, one will only be focused on himself and his close surroundings. And will not be able to see things from other's(someone very different from oneself) point of view.

It is important for one to make distinction bewteen good and bad to walk on the path of goodness. If there is confusion between good and bad, then, how will one know if he's doing something wrong?

Eternal Religion which got mutated later on and received a brand new name called 'Hinduism'.Gautam the Buddha tried to simlify its main purpose, but he was thrown out of Nepal and India, and he eventually landed in Tibet, Chian and Japan. Eternal Religion never talked about 'Daulism'. Daulistic concept creates division and eventually conflicts. A mind with conflicts can not be peaceful, and only a peaceful mind can fulfil the purpose of Eternal Religion whcih is the enlightenment or Nirvan. Whenever we talk about GOOD or BAD, we create division. People label themselves as Hinduism without understanding its true meaning.

"Gautam the Buddha tried to simlify its main purpose, but he was thrown out of Nepal and India, and he eventually landed in Tibet, Chian and Japan."

Depending on how you interpret it, you might be correct. I just don’t think Buddha simply wanted to simplify “Hinduism,” but wanted to simplify or simplified the meaning of Dhamma, the religion….the religion of all mankind or as you termed it, Eternal Religion. While I don’t consider myself knowledgeable to comment on Hinduism being mutated from Eternal Religion, what I think I know is that Hinduism is also one of the organized religions.

Like Sajhauser mentioned, I think God is within oneself. I don’t know about the God in the sky or in heaven, though. For me, that God is just the cobweb of words.

During the process of organizaning any religion, concept, belief, ideas, norms, rules and regulations are born, and these things do nothing but add extra burden on human minds. Because of such burdens, mind never become free to meditate. The mind always get attached with such man made coditions mentioned above(concept itc.) A mind has to be free of all the conditions to realize God, and this is what the Eternal Religion has been talking about. Why Buddha did not want to talk about God? Becacuse he did not want his deciples to get attached with the even God. He knew even the attachmet with God or a desire to find God can be a barrier to Nirvan.

I don’t find myself bound to any religion. So I don’t consider myself a hindu, although my parents are. MeroDeurali, isn’t being above good or evil same as not giving a damn about what’s going on in this world? like being high without having to take drugs?

A human without any sense of attachment to the world is called schizoid in psychiatric term. May be Buddha was one too…a loner.

I agree with your logic, Deurali. Yes, the process of organizing a religion could be barrier to achieving Nirvana. So, on that ground, are you trying to say that the ultimate way to get "God," is the peaceful mind through the meditation or going through the standards of organized religion?

TM, so you live in a conceptual world? not in a factual world? A concept is not the truth. The earth is not a concept. The sun.moon, you and I are not concept. We are facts.A mind is not a concept.A concept creates division and thus conflicts, and any thing that creates division and conflicts can not be a God.

Thanks for the video. Philosophical, indeed. But, I was looking for your answer on the light what you said about getting God and Nirvana.

I beg your pardon.
The line wrote above only means there exists no God. It's just a concept.
How does concept of 'concept' create division?
Could you elaborate on what you wrote up there please?
