Mr Kashish,

It was nice to see your article in Nepalnews.com and I was surprized to see you writing baseless things that I know very well about. I am a Omaha, NE resident and I have been living here for almost 12 years now. I have never seen or heard of a gang fight among nepalese students here. So where did you make up the gang fight in Nebraska???

The other thing is: I have never seen you here in Nebraska and how come you know things better than us living here in Nebraska? Do you just make it up so you have fun writing bullshits in publications such as Nepalnews.com and whatever else you write in??

I have nothing to say against the journalists that publish all bullshit and their biased opinion about Nepalese aboard but I used to believe the young folks like you until I read this article. If you can't verify it -don't point fingers and say bad things about others. Again, when we should be united trying to make others feel bad is not good idea either.

Just my 2 cents. I hope you will take it as a constructive feedback.

Couple other things I did not like about but I think that was your opinion so nothing to say there..

Ram Kisne you are right. Most of the stuff he wrote about gangfights are what he heard from others which of course made me laugh. The only time some low life mofo fights in here is when they get drunk in Nepalese community party and start grabbin someone else's girlfriend's ass. They are not even fights, more like dog barkings because they can't afford to get deported. When the cops show up, they chicken out!

Well, again, if one or two or even few fights among nepalis could be summed as frequent gang fights then the article is wrong. Otherwise I have witnessed fights during nepalese soccer match, nepalese gathering, ANA convention, and various occasions. So let's not rule out the facts that fights among nepalese do happen either involving two people or more.

Pasu, fights do occur here but they are occasional, like you said, in some Nepalese communal gatherings and I mentioned that they are not even fights, its much more like sibbling rivalry. "Nepali gangs fighting other Nepali gangs, just like the ones at home, with khukuris and what not." This statement is hilarious and is appropriate for some fictional article.

Hey NAS and Ramkisne, i did saw some pretty nasty fights in NYC as well as in Ocean City with bottles and knives. So, may be not in Nebraska.. but i did see in other places. Its just that we Nepalese should be chillin'' and not killin'...

We are just commenting about his article where he has said that there were gang fight in
Ne early 90's using Khukuri. Which is totally nonsense.

Yes, I have witnessed some nasty fights among nepalese here in USA. Fight among nepalese is "much more like sibbling rivalry". I wish the ones I saw were like what Nas has stated.
And believe me, in USA, I have seen fights with Khukuri, beer bottles, chairs being thrown at each other, not only among nepalese, but fights among nepalese and people involving other nationalities. I am not lying.

I think article piblished at nepalnews.com gives pretty much reality of Nepali communities around USA.
Like Ubiquitous and hurray I have witnessed some gang fights. Ocean city is good example where mostly Freshman Nepali student goes every year to earn as well as for fun and of course some of them involved in fighting.
I still remember the fighting between American and Nepali Youth inside Jolly Roger Park in OC. Next fight was in the Apartment complex at OC where few nepali broke window glasses and police were chasing them.

In my University's dorm, some guys once organized a fight between an american and a Nepali guy who were not getting along at all. From one to one fight it turned out to be almost a group fight.

ok first of all how many of u have done anything about the two incidents that occured, how many of u have done anything to calm the fears that our parents and friends have back in nepal after they heard about the accidents..? it is easy to citicize the effort of other person, but then i guess it is a nepali-thing to do that coz we are born with the "khutta-tanne" mindset.

hey, when my friend told me I thought he was joking but I guess its true. People are talking about it now, and we had the fight about 12 years ago! Stop harassing the journalist. That's the job of our King and the government. I was there. I don't know how he found out about the gang fight but it did happen. I am sorry to kashish we have taken so long to respond. we didn't really think people were talking about it, lave alone saying things like this in public.

I completely agree with Bhumi_gh's comment; it is very typical of nepalis to always find a way to pull another Nepali down and in the process they don't see the actual positive side of things but turns a positive thing into a negative thing.

note to birbhadra: bad journalism? why, what experience do you have in that field which makes you an expert to declare something like this as bad journalism? in any case I hope the matter is now closed.

holy smokes!!! whoever wrote against kashish about the gangfights that people claim to have had in nebraska, and stating that he is a bad reporter should stop dead on their tracks, turn around, and go check yourself first. You guys are clearly missing the point. It's not about defaming nebraska or the nepalese that live their. The whole article is about(agaisnt) the wrong message layed out by nepalnews.
Guys, stop pulling somebody else's leg. But still if you wanna do that, do it in such a way that u don't make a fool of yourself.
