After gaining an upper hand in Mahakali treaty and similar treaties under the rule of Nepali Congress and Nepal Communists – at the expense of Nepalese people-, India was already fantasizing about similar benifits from Karnali River as well.

HOWEVER, King Gyanendra strongly took his stance and outrightly disapproved of any treaty that can harm Nepal. This made India angry and that is why it manipulated the strings to create an alliance of Maoists and said political parties. It is understood that India has gained assurance from the alliance for a successful execution of the treaty regarding Karnali, and India is reciprocating by supporting the alliance. Still, King
Gyanedra is standing solid as the mighty Himalays, and not giving away any ground to the Indians.

India is not at all concerned about democracy. If it was, it would have voiced its concern about Bhutan (and the displaced Bhutanese), Sikkim, Pakistan, China to name a few.

Indded Bhoote ji. as i've reiterated in the past, given the present situation, institution of monarchy is the only real chance we have to save the REAL independence and sovereignty of our nation, mainly from india.

political leaders do not care about anything other than their short term or should i say "just before dropping dead" term goals of gaining wealth by any means. and the activists who are busy with riots and demonstrations are blinded by this vague idea of "full democracy". what we had after 1990 movement wasn't any less of a democracy. so that faild and now we are asking and blaming for king for it's failure. so what now? say if this newly acquired full democracy comes due to indian pressure and blockage of our border, fails. i guess than we will be rioting and demonastrating for nepal to be govern by india under it's model of democracy??

while all this is going on, india too busy manipulating the nepali situation to make roads for it's special interests ever so cleverly.

may lord pashupatinath save us and our motherland.

jay nepal!

Mr. Bhoonte, I am glad that you brought this issue to the fore. It wont take us long to understand what India is after. It would not take us long to understand what Maoists and Girija and Madav are after. They are all joining hands to benefit in any way from Nepal. All Nepalis should be aware of this and lend their support to the King at present.

Mr. Bhoonte, I could tell from your writing that you are one who has a great love for his country and who is an intellectual. But I did not know that you had a great great sense of humour as well. Good work above :)

yep..i for one will support the King. King G has sacrificed a lot tryin to get Nepal on track. He could've smiled and sat on the throne like Birendra and gained love from the citizens by always saying yes. He has chosen the difficult but patriotic path.

Proud of king? Well then, you must also be proud of Kim Il sung, Mugabe and all those dictators, because they are the ones who seem to real friends to him?

X X Nepal...clarify if you will what "sacrifices" KG has made for this supposedly Patriotic path that he is on?..what is your definition of sacrifice becuase it's ludicrous to apply it to this man----the same person who increased not only his own salary as head of state but also increased the allowance for all members of the Royal Family--this when the country's economy has gone from bad to worse on his watch...also, the same man who bought a Jaguar for himself and a Harely Davidson for his Enfant Terrible son, then took one of two functioning RNAC planes on his Afria tour forcing the almost defunt organization to incur even more losses and the Nepal economy to suffer with all the cancellations from Tourists who were supposed to have made the journey---had RNAC been able to fly them to Nepal...that is sacrifice is it?...Talk about a play on words!!

Well said Nepalii, let me add, why such a patriotic and nationalist king has to hire as his second man a person who abandoned country, passport and religion some 20 years ago?

Why such a nationalist and patriotic king has convicted criminals like Jagat Gauchan and other blacklisted persons in his cabinet? Why doesn't he get rid off them even after so much criticism from public and foreign diplomats? Such convicted criminals are not even eligible for a civil service.

What could be treasons that some of friends think that King is more patriotic and nationalist than democratic party leaders?

Do you have any answer why King Tribhuwan had to flee to India in 2007? Why not to China or any other country? We have already heard about King Tribhuwan's patriotism that he asked Jawaharlal Neharu to take over Nepal.

Nepal is a small country sandwitched between two giants and it would be best in Nepal's part to keep both the neighbors in equal distance. Becoming anti-Indian doesn't make you patriotic. Do you think China is helping Nepal? Every country has its own interests in Nepal and Chinese are also just fishing in troubled water. Why China doesn't speak about the presence of Indian Army in Kalapani when it's strategically sensitive for them also? In India, Chinese premier said that it was the bilateral issues of Nepal and China.

Everybody bits his drum on his own rythm

There are also people like Shankaracharya, Ashok Singhal, Lalu Prasad Yadav who speak in favor of our king. They declare the king as the emperror of all Hindus. Is it not an Indian interference?

birdhadra and the others...Patriotism is something good you do to your motherland. It doesn't matter how you do it. I wouldn't mind losing a few bad apples along the way. You guys don't support the King and on the other hand neither the political leaders or the maoist leader. When there is a body, u need a head to control it. So for one's sake let it be known what you want, not what you don't want. Let King G do what he has said he will do.
For democracy to flourish, at least 50% of the citizens need to be educated. that's at the least by the way. nepal is nowhere close to that. Democracy in Nepal will only benefit the corrupt politicians as it did before King G took over. Let the children of Nepal be educated and let them decide what they want later. Right now, those people on the streets don't know what they are fighting for. They are following the crowd planted by the politicians.
King G has said it straight out loud about the need for education in Nepal. He has been working hard on it too. Once every body is educated, the King will step down automatically(that is if he is smart).
But as of now, we need food, shelter, clothes, and security more than freedom. Freedom is being spread like religion now a days, let us not fall into it.
Hey i gotta study for my finals, i'll ellaborate this later..

good day to u all

Where would Europe or america be now if they said same like this double x nepali, "first make people educated and then........."? When those countries started democracy, was there 100% educated people there? This is a crooked logic. In fact, it is only democracy which can educate people and make them aware of their rights. Democracy has a very good quality that it can evolve and keep itself improving, unlike rigid autocracy.
And look what kind of education kg and his hanumans are trying to give people! I don't see anything modern in putting royal family photographs in text books. And they may soon be starting NAITIK SHIKSHYA like in Panchayat days. They will make people worship royal family and accept whatever they do. Is this the way you educate people.

The sheer reason I see for your this kind of nonsense logic is that you may be afraid of losing your social status (which your family may have earned by whatever crook methods, because your type is afraid of competition) as monarchy's power is controlled or monarcy itself rooted out.
