I am from Patan, and yes, from Mangal Bazar too. I guess there are lots of people from Patan in sajha. Those people who are not only from Mangal Bazar, but from any corner of Patan are encouraged to post in this thread. Infact, all the Nepali are welcome to post regarding their views, experiences and suggestions regarding Patan.

Patan Durbar Square has the highest density of temples in the area. The Old Royal Palace houses the Patan Museum, which is renovated and maintained by the assistance of Austrian Government.

gorkhadogg,

Could be or could be not. I do have LOTS of relatives there who are around my age (give or take 5-6 years).
To be sure, I used to go to school in jawalakhel.

Many people say that Patan looks like an unsystematic congregation of buildings with lots of narrow alleys and dark enclosed spaces, forming mazes where a stranger can get easily lost. But for long time dwellers like us, it is as beautiful and adorable as ever.

One good thing I found out in my last visit is that if you build your house in a traditional style inside the city, the Municipality gives you free bricks. As a result of that, many traditional styled buildings have mushroomed in the city, giving the city a genuine look and helping preserve its identity.

Guys and gals, if you have any other news, views and even pics about Patan, please feel free to post.

In 1990, it is a fact that becuse of Patanians the democracy came in Nepal. But that democracry is gone... and Girija is having fun while Sujata is playing with Pasawan Minster in India.

I am also from Patan. I didn't know Kwalkhu was so known to all. Walkhu and Kwakhu are two different places. Kwalkhu is the second crossroads while going to Banglamukhi from Mahapal.

Walkhu is like already said behind Adarsha Kanya Niketan School.

I am from Kwalkhu but now my family has shifted to Lagankhel.

Anybody know about 5 star MOMO of Dhalachha.
