Samjhana..was jus a classic heart wrenching tale! kudos to those who still remember it. I haven't watched a better nepali movie than samjhana all these years, and the songs still rock!

Beautiful Mind's ending sure did trigger the eyes after John Nash's speech. i still like the artistic and poignant tone of 'a river runs through it'

Oh thanks president.. eheh, jhukki raa, eheh... jaad nakhaada yesto haalat cha :P

>>eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is another great, quirky, surreal movie that messes with your head. la, ramro sanga hernus......

Palpali, all the movies written by Charlie Kauffman mess up your head... Hard to get in, but once in, they are hard to get outta your head.

beside Eternal, try Confessions of a dangerous mind (one of my all time favs.), Adaptation, Being John Malckovich, Human Nature.

Back to Anokha Bandhan, yeah yeah, that fattie eheh, he gets stuck between the branches of the tree right??? ehehe... kolle pitcha pani, and he still keeps on eating mangoes... :)
Indisguise, kasto yaad dilaayo yaar tyo movie.. eh..

How about Sholay? Kitne aadmi the sarkaar? hehe... I first watched that movie like 20 years after the movie was released... tyo pani India ma.. and the hype before the entering the movie theater ke bhanne, eheh... my sister goes "Gabbar lai Killai Killa ko jutta le marcha... ehehe"... waited 3 hours for Gabbar to die... awesome movie. :P

**** Also, watched "House of the flying daggers"... awesome movie, kyaa colorful and mindblowing action... eheh... super time pass... laat - ghussa - talbaar -- bunch of twists and almost messed up ending ... jhandai the movie had become "house of flying draggers"... eh... echo game... dayummm!!! How the hell they do those stunts.... eh... Everything couldn't be CGI effect.. eh.

IF and Palpali:
Will go to watch "House of the Flying Daggers" Tomorrow. Can't wait! Really can't unravel the mystery of the beauty in "violent" sword play. Surely the dance of death in slow motion. How do these people acquire such a fine eye for details. Definitely, a sensual onslaught minus the touch and taste... well almost!

Kalanki, another one was "Two Brothers" an old dubbed movie from mainland China. The secret of winning the battle was figuring out the physics of the TAO. The evil brother steals the secret and uses it for evil and the good brother has to figure out "The Way" and fight his brother. Really high drama.

Two Brothers" an old dubbed movie from mainland China. The secret of winning the battle was figuring out the physics of the TAO. The evil brother steals the secret and uses it for evil and the good brother has to figure out "The Way" and fight his brother. Really high drama..

Dao Ke Dao.. Feichang Dao.. is the way, actually the way? The opening line of Dao De Qing by Lao Tzu.

Well, the Chinese martial arts originate from the Qi-gong. Qi is energy and if you learn to balance and control that energy, no one can defeat you. Qi Gong in its pure form is a set of movements to balance the energy and Yin and Yang and all that in your body. In its altered form, there is Taiji Quan, Wu Shu, Kung-fu (Gong Fu) and other martial arts, which are very different than the Japanese martial arts such as Judo, Karate, Jujutsu etc. The Chinese martial arts have a simple logic: Stay calm, stay focused and stay balanced. And only the just, right fighter can remain calm, balanced and composed. The unjust, wrong evil cannot remain calm, controlled and balanced for wrong, which leads to his defeat. Jackie Chan, Jet Li all come from this Qi Gong martial arts school and they both refined their skills while working for Jing Ju (Peking Opera.. BTW watching which is a real TORTURE).

And the Dao is finding the way, being just, being right. When you are on the side of the good, you have found the way, if you are on the side of the evil, you have lost your way. This Dao and Qi are the nightamares of students who study Chinese philosophy.

Everything has a "dao", Everything follows a "dao", Everything is "qi"..Everything comes from Qi..taukho dudkhne.. I quit after trying to udnerstand it for 2 months.

But again, these days there's computer technology, so you don't need to know the Dao nor you have to be good to win. Fine detail setail sabai computer animation ajkaal. hoina ra?

abba yo dao sao nabhayeko filims reccomend garaun? Khoob ramro cha... alik alik symbolism pani cha...

The Man in the Mountains
The Story of Qiu Jiu
Shower
Springtime in a Small Town (for Sitaraji).. payo bhane hernu hola.
Raise the Red Lantern
Wo De Baba He Wo (My father and me)
In The Mood For Love
Chungking Express (Sitara ji, yo filim gajjab ko cha.. blockbuster ma payo bhane hernu hola.. yo filim ma jasto gajjab ko dialogues kunai filim ma ni chaina.. no wonder, its the best wang kar-wai film)

originate from the Qi-gong= from the Qigong theory/school of thought or concept or whatever it is.. but whatever it is, its the most confusing stuff that you'll ever come across.

in addition to "life is beautiful", there is a film from i guess the mid 90s called "my life". it's with michael keaton and nicole kidman and they are expecting their first baby. but he is dying from cancer and so, he makes this video of his life so that his unborn child will know him after he dies. oh my god, talk about heart breaking!!!

and yeah, the young girl in whale rider gave a speech, a very moving speech.
