What stocks are you buying tomorrow as dowjones lost 630+ points today?  Are you planning to still wait?

These are in my watchlist:

MRK - Merck
INTC - Intel
WM - Waste Management
SO - Southern Company
NLY - Annaly Capital
PEB - Pebblebrook Hotel Trust
KO - Coca Cola
BAC - Bank of America Corp.
GE - General Electric
PG - Procter and Gamble

Any thoughts on these?

It's depressing to look at the market.  I am not looking.  Maybe I'll log on to my brokerage account after a month.

Lu saathi ho, Badaa Dashai ra Dipawali ko subhakaamana.  Durga Mata ra Laxmi Mata ko aashirbaad pau.

I think financials are a buy if it tests bottoms again.... Maybe tomorrow
A relief rally today was because of the
Bernanke q&a with the joint economic committee....VOLCKER RULE

My strategy ....buy financials at dips....stops at the fresh lows ...SCALPs only... Nothing longterm.... We are officially in bear market...like BAC. 5.10-5.15. Bounce area or MS

This is a traders market all day long ... Not an investors market IMO at least not yet ... Until we test 1020

Leaving your portfolio unattended in the volatile markets that we are in is gambling.

Disciplined and Strategized trading is not gambling. (technicals)

Gold is a gamble too. You are betting that the supply of gold is gonna go down and the demand is gonna rise or stay constant.

There are a lot of unknowns surrounding that equation if you think about it. Isn't that a gamble?

I was all for buying gold for 1300-1500...cuz the uptrend was steady...but then it spiked...did a double top and then crashed....so right now its only hope to get to the 1900s is probably a QE or wait it out a year or two for its slow uptrend after a harsh correction. There might be other investments that could give you 300 dollars return on your 1600 dollar investment ( as of today) in a year or two, or when gold hits 1900 again in the future way later than you expect.

I might be wrong too but my calls here on sajha have had a pretty good track record.

As always, just my opinions dont BET on it.

So you just strengthened my argument...Gold is a gamble too...cuz you are betting that the value of dollar is gonna go down and the demand of the commodities and gold are going to rise.

My point being...there is RISK and there is calculated risk. It all depends upon if you're gonna risk it all or take a calculated risk.

I have not dealt with options much but here is what I know

there's bid and ask like level 2s ( the buyers and sellers price)

There's the strike price which is the price you are willing to pay to acquire that equity on that date the option expires if you are long on a stock(buying calls). If you are short on a stock the strike price represents the price you can sell the equity at the given date (buying puts).

The table usually is for different expiration dates
and different strike prices.

and theres nakeds, covered, butterfly and what not...

just tried it once or twice...thats all i know
hope it helps

Higher risk/reward than equities though!!!

hope this helps...

and ther

Hey all, Sprint ( S ) went down almost 20% today. Is it a buy for Monday Daytrading?

They get iphone they get slaughtered coz its too expensive, they don't get iphone they get slaughtered because they are incompetitive. They go with wiimax, its not fast enough, they go with LTE, they are acting too late. I am long on sprint and would like to see quarterly reports for q4 before I decide to dump it all or buy more.

I think sprint is a sell, Sprint was all over cnbc today, it rallied because of the unlimited thing but then crashed because they had a conference or something that they would need to raise capital to build the LTE network or something....which is basically diluting
I would not even hit it unless it found support...if you look at the chart today...it was a continuous sell off all day long

KSS i think is a sell it hit resistance at 51.27 ...draw a trendline of the lows on the daily chart for support if you want to hold it for the longer term...but with markets like this I would sell at the top and buy at the pull back at the support on the trendline, if it held and bounced back

About strategy ...look for stocks that behave within the trendlines, As they say trade tickers not companies, I could care less what the company does and what their fundamentals are because it is beyond my expertise to analyze those fundamentals to the fullest extent and decide on a purchase price to hold it for the long term

Here's a watchlist I put up on this thread on sept 25 th , I m putting up annotated charts for following it ..(trendlines are just extensions of lows and highs on the daily charts ...)

tyrannyoflogic [Sep 25,2011 14:48] Some Trending stocks and some candlestick plays I found as I was going through Stocktwits (good resource)

ACOM sexy hammer

ARUN trending , Entry -pullback and hold supp
ort or trendline break

CBST trending, Entry - on pull back and hold support
or trendline break

FN same deal

LDK inverted hammer-seems like all the solars have found a bottom(might be a temp but still)...if FSLR rallies again, this and JASO and JKS are gonna pop with it would be nice for a decent intraday trade

MNKD pull back hold support line

STEC- pennant/triangle breakout, entry only after confirmation of broken resistance

TIBX -same deal as STEC

ACOM was the bullish hammer play at the bottom of a downtrend which is only a day or two , but it gapped up so no play

ARUN

$3 gain if timed right

CBST

same thing here...

FN

same deal

LDK was a hammer play ..couple of days bounce

MNKD same deal...as of today it is at the support line...if it holds that support and moves up its a buy , with stop loss at the support line

STEC is breaking out of the ascending triangle, pennant or watever pattern, i think its too late for an entry , unless it pulls back and shows some support..I put up STEC's chart but then that day it broke my stoploss...but then it rebounded and is off I guess...

TIBX ... same as the charts above

lots of easy money right there!!!!!!

Dont you think?
