I am not blaming anyone for supporting secular state of Nepal. I am just supporting that this issue of religion was absolutely unnecessary at the moment (may be in future) to be touched by our government. Nepal was doing fine as a Hindu state, I don't want to blame Hindu religion for the problems in Nepal. It has just been escapegoated.
I, Nepesahila, am the future of Nepal and so are Karmapa, Vhote etc. Of course I will be happy with Nepal being a secular state but it is not now and not the way it has been done.

Neither I am looking for any anti-hindu forces nor I am anti against any religion. Why I disagreed on Nepal declared as a secular state is I already mentioned above. I don't know how much you know about hinduism but I know well enough that it doesn't teach anyone to be anti-religious. Moreover, there are so many teachings in there that I know that will make me lead a good life regardless of what I choose to be. So no matter how much devoted to Hinduism I am, that has nothing to do with fundamentalism and extremism. Now some people even think that Nepalese language is racially biased to them, I wonder what's left there to unite Nepal.

Look the other way around too. Cow is not only a sacred animal to Hindus, it is also our national animal. And nowhere in the world you get to kill the national animal of that country.
Our state policy has already declared that untouchability is illegal in B.S. 2020. So state has nothing to do with that, it is just our society that is holding these values. You know I have seen even the so called lower caste people discriminating against each other. So it is not just the so called upper castes, everyone wants to be on the upper part of the pyramid, or on top, if possible.

Samuel Tamrat behind moves to declare Nepal secular
New York, 21 May: Imperialist Christians made heavy investments in declaring Nepal secular, National Janamanch reports quoting S J Shah.

The leadership was taken this time Samuel Tamrat, political advisor of US Secretary general Kofi Annan.

There was no mention of a secular state in the first draft of the proclamation by parliament.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Prachanda wouldn't have made an issue over it.

Tamrat convinced officials India and Nepal during his fortnight's tour of the two countries.

The Pope has congratulated Annan and specially Tamrat after Nepal was declared a secular state.

We can learn a lot from US and we should that does not mean copy and paste of the US system will work in Nepal or anywhere else. Separation of State and Religion is good for US because there is a lot of bureaucracy in both; and both will suffer if mixed together. There is no centralized Hindu temple, in the way that there is a centralized Roman Catholic Church. In the case of Nepal- religion does not influence political decisions; the priests of pashupati or some where else are no more than ordinary citizens.
The Hindu state was symbolic and did not benefit any priests or class. There are laws against chuwa/chut and religious discrimination. Who will benefit Nepal from being a secular state? Maobadis and the missionaries, no one else. Why does it benefit Maobadis, primarily because they it goes with their communist ideology. And it benefits no one else.

To all janjati supporters and against Hinduism in the name of janjati,
We can have Affirmative action in Nepal and we had may be it wasn’t well implemented .What garantee it will .With same old power hungry bastards.I am firm believer of affirmative action .But question is does affirmative action really work. Example:blacks .why they are still poorest in USA..If u consider USA democratic country- it is not only system.If i were one of them i would drag myself up from that. Till this proclamation, i really didn't thought about religion so strongly .but this hasty and unwanted decision has made me think twice about my religion and other religion in Nepal.yes you are very right liberalism is in heart.But my heart also tells me that things are not going to be ok in Nepal and not ok with Hinduism .with increasing population of muslims and Christians,Believe me or not hinduism is going to be history.It is one of the oldest religion.There is more to it than just teachings of GOD and Goddess.It is very scientific and unfortunately people don't understand and think everything is imposed upon them .

The most important reason why Nepal should remain a hindu state and not a secular state is that it will remain peaceful in terms of religion by doing so. Sanatan 'hindu' religion is another name of peaceful co-existence in terms of religion. How many examples do you need?

(i) Baber came from Samarkand with only 50 men. What was the consequence? Pakistan, Bangladesh, 250 million muslims in India, and millions of people killed in the name of hindu-muslim clash. Would there have been any clashes in the name of religion in Indian sub-continent had muslims not invaded that land?

(ii) Christ was born Jew. He was a 'MAHAMANAV', no doubt. For his guilt of calling himself a son of God, what did jews do to him? Crucified. On the other hand, Buddha came to this earth 500 years before christ. He openly criticised Vedas in the 100% hindu land. What did we do to him? Several kings respected him. We put him as 9th incarnation of lord Vishnu.

(iii) Before reneissance, how many crusades had been there and how many catholics and protenstants killed each other in the name of religion. How many scientiests and thinkers did these churches kill before reneissance? Only after reneissance, when they put church and state separate there had been very few conflicts in the name of relion in west.

(iv) Muslims still fight among themselves for Shia-Sunni cause. How many of our Shivamargis and Vaishnavs have fought in the name of religion among themselves? How many hindus have tried to convert, forcefully or by temptation, people of other religions?



These are only few.
Only a hindu state where
(i) Killing of cow is banned.
(ii) Religion conversion is actively scrutinized by state.
will make Nepalese live in peaceful co-existence in the name of religion.
Once they see that they can convert people in the name of religion, dollars from middle east and churches will flow in Nepal to convert people only to prepare it for a huge religious clash 10-20 years from now.

I like your comparison between religions and your analysis. Only in Nepal people of different faiths live and mingle together acknowledging their differences. It does not exist anywhere else. Alas we are going to loose that now!!!

Yeah That analysis is just make believe reality is something else.

(i) Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
(ii) What do we gain from being hindu? Peaceful coexistence among all religions. It is historically proven.
