these days we're discussing the subject of abortion and the laws in the US concernign it , in my ethics class...i think abortion should be allowed until the point when the fetus becomes viable....what do u guys think and y?

ok...as bad as it's gonna sound....i think it's ok to kill a fetus as long as it's not viable...
i.e .if it is still in the woman's womb and cannot survive by itself the woman can choose whatever she wants to do with it...and if it took the mother 5 months to make that decision then ,so be it...(personally :i really hope that she does it b4 the baby starts to feel the pain tho!!!)

you know very well that you can take the fetus out @ 22 weeks and put it in a incubator untill they can survive on their own. this has been done in many cases.

i am sure you know enuff about prematurely born babies.. @ 20 weeks or @28 weeks i.e. those are babies born before 40 weeks.. i.e. the normal duration babies are carried in the womb.

when you say that fetus becomes viable that is acting like god wouldn't you say? meaning what are the criterion that sets "fetus become viable". it varies by human i.e. in this case females based on their needs. for some one that could be 39th week. for some it may be 28 weeks. for some it could be after the baby is born (O:. if you let them decide what a fetus or a human is.

but I am sure you are aware that abortion beyond 16 weeks are considered very risky. they are potential threats to mother themselves.

abortion is painful for both the child and mother carrying the child..mentally physically and emotionally traumatizing..

it's not only whether a fetus is a human being thing only..

it all depends upon the choice of female....i think it is okay to have abortion during the first month of pregnancy, in case it is an unwanted pregnancy, after thirty days the embroy heart starts beating, considerng heart as the main organs i think it is unethical to abort baby.

its not hard to find pregnancy, they can make decision within a month...
