Behind the Democracy in Nepal

Believing on this, I am sharing my opinion. `As we see the situation in Nepal, anyone would think that the problem lies between the King, seven Political parties, and Maoists. And why? What each of them wants? We'd find answers for that also. One may say political parties want full-fledged democracy. Similarly Maoists want the communism, and King wants to reestablish Panchayat or something like that in other form. It may sound
weird to you at first, but I see this crisis in completely other way. This is not any kind of conflict between Nepalese themselves. This is something between India and Nepal. It's a grand and interesting game. At the same time, highly challenging for both the states.

Every one of us knows the Indian approach of trying to dominate others, especially the neighboring countries. Defense and foreign affairs related decisions of Bhutan are directly handled by India.Nothing new about it, right? Which country in the SAARC except Bhutan is happy with India?Forget SAARC, what about other neighbors? China? Burma? Mentioning these issues just to rethink on India's foreign policies! Now let us go to what's there between India and Nepal? Care to see it thru big brother's side.

India 's average economic growth rate has reached around 7.5% which is one of the best in world today. India is second largest market in the world in terms of population. Foreigners are seeing China and India as the new markets of this age and investing here rapidly. Bottom line is- India is developing. But how long people will invest in India if basic
infrastructure is not there? How much investments would be there in Agricultural industry if outsiders don't see basic irrigation facilities in the field? In other way, when other area isdeveloping, what about large Indian farmer population? When they'll prosper if irrigation is not there?

And most importantly, energy is vital for all development- industries, technology and everything. India is not capable of producing the required amount.India has successfully taken control over Bhutan's energy resources and already started to have the benefit. Bhutan is also getting something out of it but in cost of sovereignty. Now comes Nepal's part. Nepal is second richest in water resource having potential of large amount of energy. Enough energy to cater India's energy need for industrialization and irrigation and clean drinking water for eastern India (perhaps more than that). For that,India can have straight business deals with Nepal. Take it if u want, but please pay. But no! India wants all those in the way they got from Bhutan. They want to have total control in any hydro projects that'll be build in Nepal. They want to give us something out of it- lot less value than what we deserve.

Since history India has been trying for this and as it was obvious for them to get refusal. In the mean time, foreigners wanted to invest in Hydro projects in Nepal. But India always fumed and fretted for any manipulation in rivers will lead to flood in India. So, all the big projects were cancelled.

India didn't stop. They wanted to get the resources according to their desire. When Nepal refused, they came into games with long vision. What I interpret the game could possibly be as such- Change the non cooperative government of Nepal. Keep people in power that will be ready to sell the resources of the country for some money. And if required, will be ready to sell the whole country. India knew that until and unless royal family is in power, it's not possible.

This is because for the royals, Nepal is the only place in the world where they will get highest degree of respects and they'd never sell the country. For that, India played the key role to instill democracy in 2046 and implant corrupted people in the government. According to the plan, some leaders of ours sold out rivers and lands during the 15 years. That we all know.

Now India could not depend only on those dogs. For that, how to make Nepal completely helpless in shortest period? So that Nepal will come down on the ground with knees. There won't be any other option remaining for Nepal and finally turn towards India and beg them to utilize our own resources, and give some riots two feed Nepalese twice a day. Attack on the source of economy was the simplest route towards Nepal's bring down. And then something happened out of blues.

Maoists were born in western Nepal which is the hub of ayurvedic medicine and one of Nepal's major exports. The area is still under Maoists control and no one knows how much of yarshagumba is smuggled from there every year. Country's revenue is going in vain. And let us recall, it was Girija's tenure and whole Nepal knows how Maoists flourished in no time. Besides that, major objective of giving birth to Maoists was to attack the spinal of Nepal's economy- tourism. And things happened accordingly. Nepal broke and got trapped into the crisis we are seeing today. Now please don't doubt on who gave birth to Maoists. India was the first to call Maoists as terrorists when Nepal government was still calling it as insurgents. After that, US hit listed Maoists of Nepal in top ten among the world terrorists. Nepal government never called them terrorists
those days. And in many cases, we have seen Maoists leader making rounds to Delhi in the same fashion as Girija and his daughter. The recent meeting between the parties and Maoists leaders occurred in Delhi. How could India arrange the facility when Maoists are terrorists? Do they want to send a message thatLashkar-e-taiba should be entertained by governments of various nations?

And surprisingly, nowadays Indian media do not right the word "terrorists" for Nepalese Maoists. The respected word given by them these days is "Nepal rebel". This is all happening because of theslavish mentality India possesses due to 200 years of British rule.

Anyways, now let us come to the major issue. After knowing all these, I m not in a condition to agree that the dispute in Nepal is for democracy. What I believe is it is for nationality. It is for savingthe nation. It is for raising the nation with what we have. It is for replying back to all those who try to play with us. Now, it's up to your intellect to identify who is working for what. What King is doing, parties are doing, and Maoists
are doing.

It'll be a very appreciable opinion if you say what those pancheys are doing again here? We should not forget that democracy is nature's law. When you are born, you come along with your freedom. No force can stop u for that. Let's see the cause and what's happening around. Democracy within the boundary is so important? Or democracy in a country will be there when a country will b there? Let all Nepalese get together and stop the external force for some time when Nepal will try to lift up in a position from where
no force would be able to bring it down. Democracy is always there. When Nepalese can change the government in 2046, same Nepalese can change the government again in 2066. And if required, forever free Nepalese could change the system around the world. We don't have to doubt in our capability. But the current need is not "restore democracy" as India is saying.

Current need for each and every Nepali is to "save and raise the nation". When India, and other far away nations are repeatedly trying to interfere our internal matter, our corrupted media (do I have to name the media which have bosses of NonNepalese origins? Or u find it yourself) is not tired of singing their songs everyday. These Medias are responsible for creating a pessimistic environment in the nation.

People are not protesting those external interferences which are vital in present. Restoring Democracy is not the issue as far as I understand. What if democracy is restored tomorrow immediately? Same old faces who tried to help the neighbor more than own country itself will be back to power. And the process of losing the nation's independency which has been stopped temporarily through king's move will get momentum again.

But if Nepal and Nepalese succeeds to pause that external force for some more time, its strength will be minimized. Many things can happen within few years. Zest is- country first!

Now, If you don't agree on this, I m open to have your opinion. If you feel that there is some logic in what I have said, please forward it to as many Nepalese as possible. There is nothing good happening to you within 24 hours or 3 days or 1 week or so forth.

But only God knows, long term benefits could be there.

another thing this is not democracy -- this is mob rule. if a mob can change the state of a country what is state of a country !! anyone can guess. yess there were people who were brought in trucks. I have a servant in panauti and he and his son both were coerced by maoists and brought in truck to kathmandu. they are uneducated people who are simple villagers. they didn't even know why they had to come and shout what they were told. if they had not come they would be probably killed !!! This bastard girijey knows all that still doesn't care for the liberty of people ! and u call it democracy zen????????? hahahha... after all a hijacker can do what more??? haha... had it been in the US a hijacker who looted 3 million from the bank in 1950 would never be a pm or president.

You must be laughing at yourself.....If the Maoist Violence ends and all the externalities can be dealt with, this will be a turning point in Nepal's history, Do we have equipped leaders and politicians to do so? NO. Why? because of all of our asses are here making $$$. If it is too difficult to look beyond our self interest in life, then, wanting Peace by hook or by crook is really the least we can do for Nepal. Sarcasm is the recourse of a weak mind

Well for you it may be good if Maoist come to mainstream politics. I can't see guerrillas ruling my country... that also the guerillas who have killed thousands of innocent people, have broken down the houses and displaced my fellow country men. There should not be legitimization of those bastards but they should be killed infront of the public whom they terrorized all throughout. And they should not even die an easy death but the way they killed many many of my countrymen... they should have their eyes popping out by the time they are shot.

Do you know whenever a death sentence is given in US - it is given in front of the victims' dear ones. They are invited to see the execution. Girija along with the Maoists should die the same death.

"....And were u high on drugs and also sleeping with your pros gf when the King was going to rolpa, rukum and almost every remote place to try wipe of tears of people???? Now let's see how many places girija visits as a Pm.........hahah . now don't say the King didn't do anything. He did his best but hyenas didn't let him."

You are an absolute Imbecile. Ever heard of a term called P.R., by judging your poor writing skills I am assuming you haven't heard of it. It stands for Public Relations. Gyanendra was a tyrant who was trying to salvage what was left of his dignity by visiting the western regions and so forth. What was the Monarchy doing when Income disparity was growing and the recipients of the adverse effects of diversity were suffering? They were earning millions in Royalties and sending their families to Eton and Harvard. The Monarchy has to be crushed and we need to stop living in the 17th century. No Conspiracy of Fools of your kind can crush the Maoists. Their source of power is the poor, agrarian, ostracized mass. Go back to the hole you crawled out of and serve that customer his coffee.

Bineet and m5 do not bother to fight. After all , we have to realize that India is a crooked country which is about to grip us through these corrupt politicians of ours. Let us be together and save the nation is any way we can. I want the monarch to stay forever as a unifying force and I want to see new parties coming up to save the nation.

Bineet, stop embarrasing yourself. First of all I don't know who EverythingZen is. Second of all your words are like straws in the wind, being on the other side of the globe. A pro royalist like you should be tortured till infinity.

Hi m5,

I always favour the monarch when it comes to the corrupt leaders. I believe only King G could do good to the nation and national interest. But I feel you are kind of "deviated mentality" guy. How can you say things like those who support the King should be tortured to infinity? Everyone is free to judge and have one's own openion !

bye

Mr. Manepali, by the sound of your name you seem to be very patriotic in nature. Tell me some thing, was the Maoist insurgency a homegrown phenomenon or not? Did Absolute Monarchy over the years Isolate Nepal or not? You know what the main problem with Nepal is? Too much bloody focus on politics. If you have relative stability in the government, the private sector can grow exponentially. India's emergence comes from a huge growth in their private sector. Their government is still a mess, the naxalite problem is a genuine one, but businesses and enterprising individuals have led the Indian surge.....Conspiracy theories and overly engaging in Politics is not going to do one bit for the country. When it comes to Politics the country is always divided. The US is also divided when it comes to Politics, but nothing can stop the country's Puritan Work Ethic. Over Indulgence in Politics and Conspiracy theories is just an excuse for the majority lazy, masses to justify their lack of motivation in doing something more of value.

Gone though the stuff.
To be frankly, i am agrred that you have some logics.
But it sounds just an old anti -Indian attitude or you are trying to save your autocrate king's ass.
You have well said that the current conflict in Nepal is not among the king and political parties and moist.
What is your conclusion, what do you want to say?
Aru you trying to advocate in favor of complete monarchy in Nepal.
ARe you serious about 25 million Nepali People, most of are below the poverty line. Do you have any idea that thousands of people are dying, they are displaced from their homeland, forced to live under threat and terror.
Thousands of people are on the road to demand their rights. they are just asking for their basic human rights and democratic system.
You people have fear to loose your sphisicte life styles and trying to through your dirty attitudes towards people's democracy in your cocktails parties.
Demanding democratic rights doesn't mean to be used by indian interest.
I am sure you don't believe in people's rule. You people sounds like a hyppocrate.

I also believe in constitutional monarchy, i respect the kingship with respect of people. But I hate present king who believes in his autocracy. I hate people around him like you who believe in complete monarchy.
This is the time for change, things will not be so easy as you have mentioned.
Definately, India has some interests in our natural resources. It doesn;t meant that we have to take favor of king's autocracy and we have to go against the people's democracy and multi party system.
You can not balme on whole democratic system due to some corrupt political leaders.
give me one single name from your circle including the present king who is fair, patroit and working for people's welfare......i will salute you.
you are confused in your opinin and it seems you are just trying to convert people's attentions from the present democratic movement in the name of anti-indian attitude.
I am naver in favor of Indians, I hate them.....but it doesn't mean that I am in favor of old, outdated and traditional kingship who believes in thier autocarcy and who like to treat nepali people as a slave
I am in favor of people's democracy.....absolute people's rule and be sure i am not afraid as you are trying to tell us about indian ill intention towards our country.
Trust me, there will be a fine Nepal without this kingship..it may take long time....
Now...time for change.....and come out from your ill attitudes......
Be optimistic towards the poeople's movement
Say with me in your loud voice......LIKTANTRA JINDABD.
Yo Nepali

I say King zindabad... that's my openion. By the way neither does the King know me nor am I anybody who is around him. But I strongly believe if he had 3 years and if the polititians like girija had helped him - he would make our nation strong.

The king is out of the equation here so don't even bother. We all know that the king will be there whether its powerless with power or with power but powerless, thats not the concern kya, bujhnobho??? if king needs to get the hell out of the country then mao, spa needs to get out of the country too cause they have done more damage to the country (during their so called democratic-regime) then bring a well educated fresh young leader so that our gula jasto system can be re-formatted (wipe every mother chiknay) from the country. nepalese people needs to line up these leaders in tudikhel and burn them alive. Just because the leaders swears that "they will never take bribe again and the janata bought that bullshit so easity". If the new king is no better than the old king then what makes girija a better person in 14 years? his 14 years of experience?

what do you mean by anti-india attitude? read the damn history and that will prove that how good of a friend dhotis are. i will never consider dhoti as our friend and i call upon all the nepalese, if you are patriotic, boycott india from stealing energy from nepal (we have the 2nd largest water resource, GHANTA KO 2nd LARGEST, you have to buy water in these day and age.).

dhotis are one of our best friend who refused to sign/endorse "Peace Zone", after 160 countries signed it, those myachiknay dhotis played our friendship to their best interest and threw us like a used condom, GHANTA.

DON'T F**KING PISS ON MY FACE AND TELL ME ITS RAINING.

I don't give a shit about the leaders and the king, we are the mother f**kers who will suffer not them, UNDERSTOOD?? what does that tell you? dhotis are making girija stupid and girija is making janata stupid. On top of that, the drama of student wing stating that they are watching the leaders, WATCH THEIR HAIRY ASSS.

I am Nepali and pure nepali. I left Nepal when I was 17 and still haven't taken u.s citizenship even after living in u.s for 16 years, soon I will be renewing my green card again for the second time. Nepal is our identity, I am for Nepal not for leaders, I want to revive the people, I want to show people the truth of indian policy and how it has been exploiting our people, leaders including kings and mostly, the people. For their benefit, dhotis have used us as a prostitute (we have been f**ked from the front and back), time and time again and in return, we get loans, donations, aid...what the f**K?

No wonder, we will never be developed, we have been f**ked from every angle by dhotis. Not to mention, if u.s or england were to come to nepal and build all the railroad, roads and infrastructure like british did in dhotiland, we might (I SAID MIGHT) be the most developed country in that region, looking at the size of a country.

Its the people like these myachiknay leaders who is selling our resources one after another to dhotis in the name of democracy. king was not smart either cause he shifted the target to himself and couldn't tackle it. How could he, dumbass people were around him. Look at Bush, his surroundings, do you think he is a smart man? yeah right.

Until and unless all these old generations leaders exists, nothing will happen in Nepal.

We love nepal but its being f**ked by dhotis and its dogs. And please, I am not trying to save the monarchy and don't give a shit about it nor I have a reason to but one thing I do believe (its a matter of an opinion which i have right to) is, for any king/monarchy, the country is like their house and they will try their best not to sell it, could be wrong.

Jai Nepal!

manepalihokya,

I believe the King will never sell his own country or the resources for his benefit cuz he feels janta is his own Nepalese. But people like girija and madhav who don't even speak good Nepali, don't give a damn. For them it's only money and power. Do you think they give a damn to peoples' lives or movement??? That's a big joke. One guy from my village in Rupandehi was tortured and hacked by Maoists and Girija didn't even send condolence. These bastard leaders were never and will never be like the King.
