Sorry, it?s a abrupt start. Actually I had written this for another thread but changed my mind so started a new thread which is crapy.

There isn't any genuine thought for Gyanendra to do all this for the people of nepal. He wanted to build a powerful monarch , which had lost its power and wealth in the course of democracy,so that when he dies his murderer son will have a strong monarch.

Gyanendra has made the same mistake which his Father made. If his father mahendra had not sacked the first elected government of nepal in 20016, our democracy would have come a long way and we could have seen stronger nepal not the monarch, by this time.

we are unfortunate like pakistanis who never had A SYSTEM OF GOVERNING. AND, we all know that the best way of governing is the democracy.

I have question for friends who POst their ideas supporting gyanendra's move, when you are supporting gyanendra's move you are supporting a autocratic sytem of governing, that means you believe in autocratic system of governing, then, why do you think you are in a foreign land where there is democratic way of governing?
YOu know the answer coz you have better life out here than what you had in nepal. Why do you think nepal did not have a better life? coz , we are told that we are born inferior than some people. thats not true. Every human are created equal and he/she is the only ruler of themself .

Talk about the countries where we nepalese like to migrate are those countries where there had been democracatic way of governing for long period of time. We just had two decades of democracy, altogether. Which was shadowed by the ranas in early 2007 and then dismantled by monarch in second democratic period.

Lets think a long way not just at this moment. Lets not live like a chamcha but like a leader where your ideas are respected. Each of us is a great soul and we deserve to take our own decision.

I think at this time when we all are heated up up for supporting Gyanendra or Maoist. These both are the autocratic system of governing. we should not be( but we have own freedom) divided between mao or gyanendra. the thing is, whether we want a democratic system of governing or a autocratic way of governing. Whether we support King Gyanendra or Maoist doctrine, we are supporting the same thing, the Autocratic way of governing.

The doctrine given by Mao five decades ago does not apply in this modern world and the concept of ruling a country under censorship does not fit either.

It's not give Gyanendra a chance but lets have faith in democratic way of governing . It does go through a lot of HIT AND TRIAL methods but eventually it will bring a new dawn.

Love you all.

The peace that u are talking is not the absolute peace. Have u ever noticed the calm before stong wind comes and hit u? HOw calm it looks ?u might not even notice the devasting wind hidden behind it.its not peace but the preparation of nation to go under a revolution. If u say nepal can be peaceful under absolute monarcy i doubt the future of nepal in hands of paras following other addicted royal generation.

Indian journalist condemns censorship.

Indian Journalists Union condemns censorship in Nepal
Hyderabad, Feb 5 (UNI) The Indian Journalists Union (IJU) today strongly condemned the repression of freedom of the press in Nepal by King Gyanendra.

In a statement here, K Srinivasa Reddy, IJU Secretary-General alleged that it was shocking that the King after seizing power and suspending democratic and political process in the Himalayan Kingdom, imposed total censorship on the media and was warning the journalists that they would be punished if they published anything critical about his actions.

He alleged the King let loose a reign of terror against working journalists by raiding their houses and detaining them. Hundreds of journalists of the print and electronic media were either arrested or put under house arrest.

He also charged that the police had raided the residence of the President of the Federation of Nepal Journalists Tara Nath Dahal, who evaded arrest.

Mr Srinivasa Reddy said the working journalists of India expressed their support and solidarity with the Journalists of Nepal and asserted that the IJU would extend all possible help in their struggle.

He also called upon the government of India to put pressure on the King to immediately restore freedom of the press and other democratic rights of the people of Nepal.

nepali journalist condems the abrogation of democracy.

Nepal scribes' group condemns coup

Agence France-Presse

Kathmandu, February 6, 2005|15:57 IST

From Nepal with fear ?

Nepal's journalist federation on Thursday condemned King Gyanendra's seizure of power as a "coup against democracy", defying a ban on criticism of the monarch's move.

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists said in the statement hand-delivered to news agencies that Tuesday's sacking of the Government and its replacement by a Cabinet of loyalists "has destroyed all the remaining structures of democracy".

Landline and mobile phone links and the Internet remained cut for a third day, a move seen as aimed at stifling dissent following the imposition of emergency rule that suspended free speech, assembly and other rights.

Gyanendra has said he dismissed the Government of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for failing to hold elections or to bring peace to the Himalayan nation, racked by an increasingly deadly Maoist revolt.

The journalists' statement came as state-run Nepali-language daily Gorkhapatra warned in a front-page notice that any "writing or opposition to the royal proclamation ... has been prohibited for six months".

The monarch, vaulted to the throne four years ago by a palace massacre that wiped out most of the royal family, has pledged to reinstate democratic rule and law and order in the poverty-stricken country in the next three years.

"It would be against all norms and values of modern civilisation to believe such a course of action would help restore democracy in the country," the federation said.

The state-run English-language newspaper, Rising Nepal, on Thursday quoted Tanka Dhakal, Minister for Information and Communications, as saying that "the media should not be afraid of the latest events".

"Peace was a prerequisite at the moment and the media should also work to establish peace in the country," he said.

"The present arrangement is only temporary and the Government is also for the freedom of the press."

The information minister promised that communications systems would be re-established as soon as possible without giving a date.

Well harkedai, yes i am sure definitely this king will do the things that politician couln't do in 15 yrs. In past few days we all haven't got chance to call home andenquire about family. And he is distibuting phone signal as if some gives food to his/her pet twice a day.
this u call the imjprovement ,there we find the hope for bright nepal kikaso ?
In coming three yrs he will be busy gatherig his chamches who will work for their own benefit as happended during the panchayat period. what do u think that there will be no corruption within new goverment ? if that would be the case then nepal would have been already compiting with most developed nations during panchayat peroid. wasn't 25 years not enough ?
In the country where u cannot express your feelings to others, u cannot express your views about something u like or hate, how can u find a hope for better nepal?noway

yes, if people think14 yrs is enough fro the devolopement then think abt 25 yes of panchyat...as jhole said...panchyet was just a dark age where u canoot see anything...neither good or bad..so what happend is ..only radio nepal ,gorkhaptra and nepal Tv lately..so how can u expect the real news from the fully government oriented media...even in democracy NTV was more flexible..i know they casted lot of things against governemt also...now look at the condition ...media sensorship..when u haev to print something ..army checks before the news runs in newspaper..so how can u expect rea news...so what happens is they hide all their flaws and try to persue people from the news telling their good side only......bulma janta lai bhulaune khel matra ho yo..tara democracy ma everything was open where u could see both good and bad ..and people frustrated form the bad things...

I read a lot of people are angry with the king just because they couldn't contact their family. It is obvious that we get worried when we don't know what the situation is in the country and we worry about our loved ones. At least for those who believe that King is going to do something well for the country and people, you should assume that your family are safe as long as they are amont those that have not done anything wrong in the past. For those who know that their relatives have don't things that are illegal then just assume that action will be taken and depending upon the level of their sin they will be punished. So, I am sorry but not.

See, India actually supports King G's move. Read the following:

India says will not interfere in Nepal's crisis: Pranab

[India News]: Bangalore : India on Monday, said that it would not interfere in the internal matters of Nepal, even as the world continued protests against the "royal coup".

"Obviously the people of Nepal are to decide it. At the same time to recognise the special relationship which has existed between India and Nepal over the years, it is not desirable to comment more to what has already been articulated by respective ministries," said Union Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee here.

I think its not just the matter whether other countries support or stand against the kings rescent move. As a nepali we should and are able to descide whats right and wrong. In front of us lies future of nepal and we are the one to choose right leadership for the country. I dont wanna see leadership to be someone's birthwright without considering his ability to handle the nation. It shouldn't be the family profession of a single cast like Kapoors do in indian film industry.
