USCIS has a policy of allowing F-1/J-1 studetns to work legally by issuing Employjment Authorization Card under a special provision of ' Student Relief Program'. Since 1998, five South East Asian Nation's students have recieved such immunity based on their situation of severe economic downfall and political crisis. Last year after Katrina, USCIS again issued 'Student Relief Program' for students form those nations adversely affected by Katrina. We can also claim for similar immunity from USCIS but there has to be a legislative action. We can clain such based on the over-a-decade armed conflict, political crisis, economic downfall, low per capita income of $250 and the 20th Failure nation (recently announced as reported in mysansar.com) Please refer to www.santosgere.wordpress.com for detailed information OR Older posting here in Sajha, 'CREATE PRESSURE GROUP', 'PRESSURE GROUP' For this , we have to have a specific target of signature collection campaign. The collection of signatures will start immediately. Lets begin our peaceful-fight for equality, here in the most liberal democracy, the United States.

In my personal opinion - No it will not. Students will still be showing the financial resources, for the study. The positive factor will be that the US Embassy WILL consider the fact that the students, can work legally in the US and that they can support their studies partially through the jobs. The student relief program SRP allows 20 hours of work during semesters and 40 hours of work in break, in the field of your study, NOT ON-CAMPUS. The other benefit will be that in future, students can apply for social security as soon as they are here under the SRP and start work from the first day. This work periods DOES NOT get deducted from the OPT or CPT but has to be renewed by the International Student Advisor of the school where the student is. The most beneficial thing is that, the work will be LEGAL compared to ILLEGAL work/jobs. Students can compete in the job market freely and hold positions according to their calibre in thier field.

sANTOSH jI, Your thought of helping Nepalese is indeed very good. But, why do we have to accept the foriegn brand of a Failed State to Nepal in doing this ? Arko kura, why are you so interested in leading neplese??? as if today is the last date. Why the hurry. REST OF THE PEOPLE, who dont know how to apply for FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ..please contact your international school advisor. Once the international school approves, USCIS will approve.

It is not a matter of leading ..... If this can be done, why not? ...There is no harm in at least trying rather than being quiet. It is true that there's no hurry, we can take our time and wait for an appropriate situation too, besides this is not a matter of a snap of a finger. It takes time for the legislators to proceed with the petition for legislative process the failure states news: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1625390/posts may clarify the tag question as well. mysansar.com also had this news a while ago. i am looking for a original report from the listed agencies namely: US Foreign Policy magazine and the US-based Fund for Peace think-tank ANY LEADS?
