Sorry, but have to have goat meat for Dashain. I'm probably the biggest fan of Khasi ko Masu. I had it for dinner last night.... yummmm, it was so good..... By the way, it was KABAB....droollll!

if we dont eat kashi who is gonna eat them. its natural cycle of life. kashi eats grass we eat kashi.and sometimes depending on where u life tiger lion might eat u.

in my case ,
i like goat meat but i dont like the offerings made in dashain,
i hate that aspect of dashain but the rest is awesome,

people act like hypocrites when they offer something to god and eat it themselves.
this makes our religion somewhat violent ,
thats why i dont want to go to temples in dashain,

but i am a meat lover,
when the world will be out of animals , i think i would start eating humans , he he he ,,,

and for the veggies,
its not bad to eat meat, as you see your teeth structure , you still have two canines which are meant for tearing the flesh, so even nature permits us to do so and meat is good source of amino acids which plants cant fulfill,

even more interesting, if some you guys are in resource economics,
as the world population will be burgeoning, there would be need for more calories from the fixed unit of land, and the best alternative at that time would be to run the plant foods through the animals , which will convert them to higher quality in terms of calorie.

so forget all this crap and come to the point,

irrespective of the cast ,creed and religion and beliefs, dashin is the most wonderful time of the year for all the nepalis in any corner of the world. so lets celebrate with all the enthusisasm as you like it , in your own way , in your own aura,

and i would like to wish happy dashain to all the nepalis in nepal, and elsehwere in the world and to all the sajha users .

People if u don't like meat simple don't eat it.It has been human diet as long as human being have existed.Infact it is part of food chain ..so there is scientific reasons why we should eat meat.

RSPCA unhappy with goat killing sentence
The RSCPA says it would have liked a much tougher sentence imposed on a Bowen teenager for killing two pregnant goats.

Lyall Geesu, 18, was given a four-month suspended jail term and placed on a strict intensive correction order, after admitting to the senseless slaughter of two goats.

The court heard the teenager twisted the neck of one goat and kicked the other in the head.

Michael Beatty from the RSPCA says the legal system needs to get tougher on animal cruelty.

"I mean we have the highest penalties available in Australia," he said.

"We've just got to try and persuade the magistrates to make use of the penalties they have available."

Mr Beatty says it is difficult to understand why a young man would be so callous.

"What on earth possesses someone to say 'I'm just going out to slaughter these animals'," he said.

I like meat, but I don't like to eat the animal that has been sacrificed in the name of god. It just doesn't seem right to me to butcher an animal and have pleasure devouring it. It is humiliation to the helpless animal.

All lives are same and we should respect them equally. Sacrificing of animal in the name of Gods (big misconception) is stupidest thing to do.

I hate goat meat, nothing to do with sacrifice or anything, i just dont like the taste of it. And I am not a big fan of dashain either. It used to be a lot of fun when I was a kid, but the older I get the less important is to me....and I am much happier if I get to eat fish and chicken during dashain.....im more Tihar kinda girl.

Bruce Ji, I oppose any short of sacrifices. I think it's human ego to control, dominate, kill others and feel superior. I don't know what kind of people feel proud by chopping throat of a helpless animal. People have to eat meat, yes but again people have to drink and smoke too. It's not something we can't live without. The meatless world is almost impossible (may be someday, after a century) but there should be more vegetarian so we can cut down the killing of animals. We harvest animals for food so I don't think the food pyramid is going to collapse. Having many choices and alternatives about diets, we should weight lives more than bloody meat.

Can someone tell me what is the difference between Kausi and Boka? when i went to nepal i was confused when some people say it was Kausi kho masu and other told me it was Boka kho masu?
some told me that kausi masu taste better than boka?

As my understanding, Boka is a male goat which stinks (probably semens) and always after female goat on the other hand Khasi is a castrated (neutered) male goat. Khasi does not smell that is probably why they taste better as people say out there.
