 I am with you guys. i m returning back soon too. may be within a month or two..Feb ko last samma ta jasari bhaye pani pharkinchu...Thinking to do some business if you guys have any idea let me know too....

@rahul80

"How much can you earn doing a 10 to 4 job in Nepal.20,000,30,000,50,000?"

About earning the money, it doesn't matter how much do we make ? What does matter is the self satisfaction. There is nothing called "good enough money". Jati kamaye pani jaha kamaye pani pugdaiina..All we need is the that satisfaction which we are looking for..sound like philosopichal...tara bujne le yo kura bujcha.....Anybody with me? please raise your hand..

we will meet there in ktm..btw anybody is interested in bungee jumping?

Rachhas(demon) le sahi kura garyo. Self satisfaction hunu parchha. Although income is low in Nepal, spending is also low. Good thing is we have a lot of free time there. There are unlimited cool places in Nepal to visit and you don't have to spend much. If you can make over 30 k per month in Nepal, you will live like a king. Once in a while you can visit Singapore, Malaysia, japan, china, Thailand to refresh. B4 you go back, visit all the nice places in america so you won't feel like you haven't seen America fully. I would prefer to live outside valley.

 I think this is only Sajha guff only, Nobody is going back.

I can guarantee that.

But on the serious note, I am also thinking going back but I don't know how. America has swallowed me so much in credit cards, it's lifestyle, and money that I can earn here. This is such a stressfull situation. Feels like chain in my leg. Their should be one forum or one website dedicated to ppl gone back so ppl thinking of going back can have some idea from their perspective. If that could be done , a lot of confusion could be solved.

it sounds that no body has a freaking clue of job market in Nepal. if you have a degree in Accounting or finance or Business in general from US university, you have enough company to give you1 lakh per month job. if you have MBA you can negotiate more. banking sectore is becomeing huge in Nepal. I personally know many people who have left nepal with a good degree and they all are working in  a big company with good salary. and i think 1 lakh per month is a good salary to begin with. companies go resepct candidates with a degree from american universities. it's not just the degree, it's the overall experience that a candidate carry.

regarding business, it would be bad to take advice from people who have no clues about the market in Nepal. doing business requries spending good amount of time learnig and researching prospects in different market sectors.

good luck

 @old enlgish

"I can guarantee that"

No offense, but do not guarantee something which you can not control.  don't know about others but i am returning. and yeah furke is right if we make 30,000 in a month we can live like a king..i have been there seen that ..all of the guys who are working on bank or finance or anywhere already made trips to bangkok, malaysia, dubai.....We will live our life.....As per seeing the america i have seen few places and i can live with that....

so no body interested in bungee jumping....

 NO offense to anyone but as long as you are satisfied with what you have then I guess that's the right choice. if you make enough money to live like a king then that is the right choice.

@ राछस I am not interested in bungee jumping but I am for sure interested in returning to Nepal after completing my degree in a semester...
Yahoooooooo chacha huiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

 well this is good that ppl are in serious thought of returning. We can network among ourself who has gone back and create a opportunity for entreprenuership . Learn and share. Look for brighter side of Nepal. and please share your thoughts after you are back in Nepal. I cannot figure out from my parents view , I'll try if i can see from a eyes of  America returns.

Good luck!!

 Nepal ma actor actress,doctor engineer haru are not satisfied and they come here.Ahile ta self satisfaction would be ur priority what happens when u have ur kids.Me myself had a 35000 salary in Nepal.Belive me there is no self satisfaction.kaam garera thakera ghar jada jaba loadshedding huncha or timi office jada 2 4 jana gunda ko dhamki ley nepal banda bhayera hindai jana parcha u will get frustu.yaha 2 4 barsa dukha bho bhanera afno future lai anyol ma naparau.At least kaam garney lai ijjat cha yaha.
Ani no one is expecting a degree holder from USA in Nepal.They all in Nepal want us to live abroad.coz the unemployment will go up.
Regarding people working in bank going to bangkok singapore.They do that because they do not wana pay lot of tax to government and bank does it for their own benefit.
Banking sector is going banrupt these days.I have known one of my dad's frend who was noone 5 years ago.Than about a year back he was one of the millionaires.But u know now he is on the verge if getting on the streets.
Tommorrrow u wont have job or money ,do u think ur selfsatisfaction will work than??

rahul80
there are many stories in nepal , both of sucess and failure. what you can do depends on you. it is just sad that you are one of the who failed in nepal. i would say same thing about many people who came to US from nepal becuase they were not happy in nepal. but that doesn't mean that it is true for other half who would use their knowledge and skills to make their life happier.

when you gonna watch your hard work exploded infront of you by bunch of reckless idiots like maoist, then you talk to me and tell me the definition of satisfaction.

Everybody missing a key point here..There MUST be a stable government to do any kind of business otherwise, Doing a fresh business in Nepal is like pouring a water in the sand.

 Rahul80 might have a point. We all living here for over 5 years have been thinking about ktm or Nepal as same as we left. Childhood is always fun, no worries , no responsibilities. Now if we go back, all the responsibilites on our back, earn money, manage family, parents, huge nepal-american culture shock, generation gap. All this points should be considered.

What is suggest is that go there in summer and try looking for a job or look around if you can do something. Not being overly tourist in own country and looking at nepal as a tourist point of view. When you start struggling like rest of the crowd then we can better understand and evaluate the circumstances.

well this is just my thought, we are all emotional right now and something might have triggerd us to go back . but experience counts like rahul has. Be Emotional but dont act Emotionally .

We should get some point of view who is actully back in Nepal from USA and know their experince,

CAN ANYBODY CAN CREATE A FREE BLOG SITE THAT CAN GATHER THOUGHTS OF AMERICA OR ANY DEVELOP COUNTRY RETURNEES TO HELP OUT PPL LIKE US .

THIS IS GETTING A MAJOR ISSUE AMONG NEPALI NOWDAYS. NEED A SOLUTION!!

 @dolphin
Failure is what made me make a right descision.apart from a corrupted ministers get me one example whom u can look up to in Nepal and say that ur gonna be like him or her.
Buddy i am not scared of failure but i didnt fail in Nepal it is the gOvernment who failed who could not hold up to an educated personal like me.
do u think u wud have come to USA if Nepal was that good??Nth has changed over a year.When have u come to usa 2 3 4 or 5.When u left home u might be dependent on ur parents but when u go back u have to be on ur own.When u start going here nd there in search of employment u will realise how hard it is there.
It is same as people in Nepal thinking about how eg it is to earn dollar in USA.Its the same story turNing the other way.People are dreaming of earning 1 lakh per month and living it king size but truth is bitter than fiction.
may be u came here in search of dollar and when it was not so u felt bad.But i came here in search of opportunity and i am ready to struggle for it.
FYI:I left a good job in Nepal with a handsome pay to come to usa coz life is not eg as it seems.i was learning nth but how to cheat during work and all that after 1 years of job.

Old English has a point. I think it's the romanticism of the past or the latent "home sick" feeling. Alike most sajhaites, I too think of returning after my masters. But, then the thought of it scares me. I can live with load-shedding, water-issues etc. (afterall, we spent most of our lives that way, it wouldn't be hard to get back in form). What does scare me is the state of lawlessness. We have been accustomed to breathe the "free" air, exercise our "freedom of speech" and when anything goes wrong (ambulance, fire and especially police), we know we can rely on the state. In Nepal, anything can happen. That word, "anything" scares the s!#t out of me!

I agree with rahul..I haven't experienced this first hand but from what I have seen I can say that if you or your parents already have sufficient money and power back home to back you up to keep you going till you figure out how it works back there, you'll can succeed and have a life you wanted or Pursue a luxurious career you always dreamed of else I'm sure Nepal is going to squeeze a juice out of you.

totally agree with SNA
jasto chasma lagayeko chha testai dekhinchha..........everything depends on your personal and family situation. if you are well to do family in nepal then nepal is far better than US. if you come from a family that looks towards you for support then its a disaster to go home from here and think about doing stuff. for people with talent, hard work and little family support in Nepal, america is the place to be. for others nepal will be better.

manchhe ko personal sochai ma pani bhar parchha. some want BMW while others will be happy with Maruti with their family. it all depends on personal view. one thing is for sure that America is being tough on immigration rules and the attitude towards non-white has completely changed since 9-11. for instance, just look at the news about random checkings at upper new york and all the racial profiling.

nepali haru le pani ta professional nai bhaye pani k nai garchhan ra?? aakhir ma weekend ani party garna nepali nai jamma huna parchha. it is very hard for us to assimilate here.

antenna foundation ko auta program riachha US returnee ko barey ma, time chha bhane sunnu nikkai ramro chha

aba yestai ek chhak bhat khayera goru joteko jasto jotinu paryo bhaney chhai ma pani 2 barsa ma nepal janchhu. baru america returnee haru ko political party kholera chhai kehi huna sakchha nepal ko bikash ma. i am happy that whatever the reason is, people are heading or at least thinking about going back home. nepal ma pani harvard, columbia, cornell gradute haru na bhayeka hainan, sunina matra naaayeko ho. yaha bata farkey pachhi dukkha awasya hunchha tara jindagi sukhi nabhaye pani maan chhai khushi hunchha!
