According to the organizers, due to heavy public demand, they're holding yet another cocert with Raju Lama and Mongolian Heart, Nima Rumba, Tsering Gyurmey, Mingma Sherpa and Sindhu Malla.

Sukmit Gurung will be joining this time along with two very popular Tibetan singers, Phurbu T. Namgyal and Tenzing Woeser.

TM - I'm totally lost with your question 'yas paali ke harayo'.

Thanks for your nice comment - since it's to 'some extent' I'm glad I have room to improve.

Reference to duita baggy panties aside (what with to some extent and room to improve), my questions is: besides Sukmit Gurung, Raju Lama and Nima Rumba, are the other performers professionals? Pardon my ignorance, but I had never heard of them before. Are they bonafide singers or local amateurs?

- Just trying to decide whether to shell out $30 for this show or not.

Riten that's a very legitimate question in my opinion. Keep it up.

ssNY! last time tickets were stolen or lost (allegedly). But this time, two pairs of panties to represent the two nepali lady artistes. Hehehe!

Hats off to Sukmit as she is a rarely gifted artist. Sindhu? I have no clue. I am sure she is a great one in the making. Best wishes to her from my side.

Bottomline: Very very tempting show! ****1/2 out of *****

Riten - Beside the ones you named, others are proffesionals as wll. Mingma Sherpa is a new rising, for lack of a better word, star with songs like Namuna, Chham Chham etc. Sindhu Malla surely is a star with over 100 songs under her belt - but the song that got her most recognition is from an old song she did as a remix - Jhal Jhale Ankha ma.

Check them both out on youtube.com by just typing their names and you'll see some of their work.

Now, the three Tibetan singers are very popular among the Tibetans around the world. Tsering Gyurmey, along with all Nepali artists, including the band members, came from Nepal. Phurbu T. Namgayl is a resident of Minnessota and Tenzing Woeser just started making his residence in New York.

I hope the explanation I gave is decent enough for you to shell out $30.

Riten - Got the joke. he he he.

Rockend - I have no say over what the price of admission should be. As a matter of fact, tickets are printed and are being sold - dhama dham, as we speak/type.

Rebate was offered to you only because of your birthday and that too, I had to ask them. Of course, I could afford to pay you back five bucks or you can't be that needy to begin with - but just thought it'd be nice to show some happy gesture when you are celebrating your birthday.

BTW, it's not $40 this time. It is ONLY $30. So, if you thought it was the first, you just saved $10 already.

Good to see you back 'don_key' - thought you'd disappeared.

And what a way to come back and complain yet decide to go to the show, albeit for Sukmit Gurung. Trust me, organizers are working hard to make this better than the last - proof of which is a phone call I received only minutes ago asking me to help find better sound guys - guess they had gotten some complains about the sound.

Higher demand higher price? Your guess is as good as mine, as I said somewhere above, I have nothing to do with the pricing or much of the stuff organizers deal with. Can't bear to take any headache when I can help it. he he he

No, I'm not a 'sadasya' of the Himalaya Community.

Having been in the shoes of these organizers, doing a show or two in the past, I know how hard it is for them to do all this. Understanding this and remembering how appreciative I was when I got some help, I am just a volunteer - giving a little helping hand to my fellow NYkers.

And since the 'products' they are presenting are of such high qualities, amazing singers from Nepal and Tibet (or of Tibetan orgins), it is such a blessing for us all who are so far away from our home country and yet we get to see them here. Why not push a little more so that they get to sing infront of a whole lot more and we get to enjoy the show in an environment of a place that has crowd jumping and dancing with joy!

But quite ironically, I may not even be able to attend the show this time around. I usually am in a ski slope with my family during Chrstmas time and have planned this time as well. But, boy, I want to come up with a good excuse, and if I succeed, surley 'don_key', we'll meet at the Himalayan Musical Concert.
