Eastsidaz, you bring up some good concerns. However, I find it hard to agree with you on your take that the ANA is not more responsible that us in matters that are collectively Nepali. If the full form of ANA is Association of Nepalis in the Americas, it certainly should have some members that have been elected by the Nepali people here in the Americas (unless its hereditary, or any shit like that). That being the case should it not appear to us that these people are supposed to have been elected to this position because they are more responsible than other people, who they won, to rise to the post. Based on these premises, I would think that ANA should raise this concern. Also, if people in the ANA are into affairs of Nepal, they must certainly visit this website. This notice should be enough for them to act, instead of filing something like an "application" to ANA to act.

However, if one of us opened up an event on facebook and spread it to everyone we knew, I don't think why we could accomplish just something meager, if not something even greater than what the ANA might. So please visit this page, if you care, and send invitations to everyone you know.

when it happend last time in illam ,well, they were constructing pillar inside neepals territory breaching no mans land and 300 meters in, activists from limbuwan volunteers(LV) protested n faced SSB with sirupate khukuris along with other studnt orgs which prompted indians to stop thier construction and make a table talk with nepali officials concluding to withdraw. sirupate khukuri does not really make a worthy weapon of choice against INSAS rifle which they r armed with but i believe it does attribute psycological fear to indians. i m starting to sharpen mine which has been going all rusty n blunt lying in corner for ages.

What about ANA? It's time for ANA to voice out in America too. I think Nepalese from all level of life will come and voice out "Global Day of Action Against Indian Aggression in Nepal" or any rally against Indian aggression on Nepal if ANA is to lead.
We saw last year how united and patriotic the Tibetan were against China.
But have Nepalese become selfish? Have we forgotten our motherland?
Have we forgotten our ancestral home? Have we forgotten our birthplace?
Is running after green dollar, GC, Americans citizens more important than protecting our Motherland from foreign aggression?
When your own Nepalese brothers and sisters have been driven out of their homes and land.
When our own Nepalese people have become refugees in our own home.

Tell me why we are we still so slow in reacting to this injustice?

grgDai, Easier said than done. and i am not a neprican. however i found out that i happen to be an ANA member since they sent me a ballot last week with all kinda ppl's name with checkboxes around em and  i have no damn idea who is who so my research on the candidate is pending. frankly, i did not have any idea that when i registered for ANA events last year i automatically became an ANA member and earned the right to vote. My point here is, being an ANA member is not a great feat. you can become one if you are as concerned.

As concerns making them do it, that's right. the system becomes what you make of it. i see very many ppl lambasting ANA's inadequacies but has anyone here been through the trouble of visiting ANA website and dropping an email about this issue. someone surprise me, please .

We nepali are very good at rushing to judgements. noone beats us when it comes to pointing fingers. i have never had the opportunity to read not just ANA's but any nepalese org's accomplishment in sajha. does such organization exist? sure it does. but us nepalis do not bother to give credit. we just look at the negatives and start criticizing even without needing to know the whole story. we nepali need to learn to do our homework first and then express our opinion. only then we can have a positive production.

I dunno how they do up in Canada but in the US ppl are pretty occupied. Protesting is a very rare scene( damn how i miss nepal). in my opinion ANA not coming up with any statement about the encroachment issue might be the ongoing election therein. but we ppl can ask why ANA should be defunct during the election. dont they have an interim working order. Well it is how it is. and this is just my opinion. they might have been working on issue just that i am not aware of it.

No nepali will deny that this encroachment issue is the priormost. boils my brain. i have been hearing about it since i was born. nowadays media is doing a fine job by highlighting this issue. but posting dhotis pics in sajha and sloganing fock u india like some folks in sajha will take us nowhere but stand us out like the Palestinians. Fighting for our own land. What we need is a strategic approach. Bilateral talks. We need to calm down and proceed in a civilized fashion. It is high time we did it asap.
