 Hello Sajha friends,

My H1-b is gonna start October 1st. I have been working at this reputed company since August last year and its a direct hire in a full time position. I wanted to bring my parents over for a visit for Dashain and I was wondering what are the chances of parents getting visa from a H1-b status. Also to note is that I have a younger sister back home and my dad is working as govt officer. My parents had applied back in winter 2011 when I graduated with Bachelors degree but it was rejected, but almost all graduation invites were rejected that time. Please let me know if you have any experience or suggestions regarding this,

Thanks!

First of all I wanted to reply you on the same day you posted this note, but this sajha has stupid registration process which caused this delay.

Anyway coming to the point-
I sponsored my dad and he got visa a month ago. Alike you, I am also in H1B, working as full time IT professional.

Documents I sent him are as follows-
1. Invitation letter (indicating just for visit - name different places/cities)
2. Letter to the consular (sponsor Letter)
3. My employment Letter
4. My bank Balance doc
5. Recent 2 Pay stubs
6. Last Year W2

Document your dad need to  prepare--
1. Relation verification (show he has strong tie at back home)
2. Property valuation
3. Some bank balance
4. Leave letter from the office
5. Retirement Fund (if available) also works as bank balance

P.S. My dad's visa was also rejected at the first time back in 2007.

Let me know if you have any questions.

 hi.
i am in the similar situation so thanxz alot for posting "hkrishna" and replying bxg3129, but my delima is that it not been a 1 years since i started working so idont have last years  w2 yet.  also plz dont mind disclosing the yearly income and bank balance amount (just a rought figure) plz.
last time they tried for my graduation ceremony they had included bank balance , letter from their work place(dad works in multinational company and mom in gov . office) they have visited various countries around the world  which i thought wore strong point but still not granted visa.

I forgot to mention I also sent copy of my H1B document.

-Incase of you don't have W2, I think pay stubs for last 3 months or 6 months should work (Do some research on this part).
- Had yearly income 75K+
-Bank balance about 30K (But you don't need that much to sponsor, around 15-20K should be enough to make a strong case). I know the other person who showed 15K from her side and her parents showed about similar amount back home.

Almondbaby, Your case should be very strong as your parents have visa for different country. Just make sure they have strong tie back home and show that from their document and interview.
