US EMBASSY, KATHMANDU, NEPAL

March 22, 2010

With demand for U.S. visas increasing worldwide, the State Department is committed to using new technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the visa application process. The web-based, non-immigrant visa application takes advantage of new technologies to better serve our visa applicants. The new web-based application replaces three applications with one “smart” form.

Beginning on Monday, April 05, 2010 all non-immigrant visa applicants will be required to use the online DS-160 application.  For more information about how to apply using the new online DS-160 application, visit the U.S. Embassy’s website at http://nepal.usembassy.gov/visas/non-immigrant-visas/applying-for-an-niv-in-nepal.html, or sign up to attend a free, public, information session at the U.S. Embassy on Friday, April 02 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. If you would like to attend, please send your RSVP by email to ConsKTMEvent@state.gov. Include in the email your full name, date of birth, telephone number, and passport or nagarikta number. We will accept participants on a first-come, first-served basis until the seats are full. You must receive confirmation from the Embassy in order to attend.
