Snoopy dawg,
What u talking abt....at least gyane tried to make better Nepal. He failed that's another thing. He is not a dectator. He could have killed several people to stay in power but did not choose to do so. He never left Nepal, and most funny thing I remember is that people used to say gyane blocked our phone service during his move but wake up people we had 18-20 hr no electricity for months.
Their are people that like monarch, but I think no single party can rule this country. It's either compromise or get ready for civil war.

Monarchy could be the best system--- if the monarch doesn't intefere with the decisions that jantas make through parliament, if the monarch just remains as the symbol of unity in the country, if the monarch does stuff that deserves respect, if the monarch does not take money from the dhukuti of the country like in the past and so on.

Abt making better Nepal: I am sure Gyanendra Shah worked in the best interest of Nepali people but he is neither qualified nor he has good advisors around him to make things work for Nepal. And, I am sure there are  lots of leaders who are working in the best interest of Nepal but again a lot of them are neither qualified nor have good advisors  and as Gyanendra Shah, they have their own interests which have come before the interest of Nepal.

We are frustrated by the present situation, present leaders  but that does not mean that we should revert to kingship. The beauty of democracy is "People rules the country" . If we don't like someone, we choose someone else and there is chance that  one of us can reach the place to rule the country.  We know it has not been the perfect scenario as far as democracy is concerned but again, we are in the process of making it better. Issues are hard core, good/educated/visionary leaders are scarce, but since we are in the path of people's rule, I would like to believe that  some good/amazing leaders are in the process of making among ourselves.
Jai Nepal....

Snoopy no doubt you are son of one of those bastards whom we call our neta. you give a sh!t lecutre about electing new person in election after one got failed. wake up dude, this is nepalese politics  where baban singh got elected and you wanna bet with me if  tomorrow khumbahadur khadka and JP gupta fight for election they will win in majority !
this is nepalese politics dude , young people arent going to vote because they are busy in Babylon , bunker parties and norling pool houser parties and old generation are taught to see whatever their leader want them to see. if there is election again in nepal , prachada, sujata , makune , jalanath will be elected again.
and i bet King Gyane and monarchy is far far far better than this sh!tty politicians and so called democracy !

facebook: I applaud your assumption that I am "son of one of the bastards who we call netas". If you have that assumption, I think I can safely say that you are son of one of the bastards whom we call panches/army generals/chamchas of Gyanendra. Bottom line is you have no idea who I am and I have no idea who you are.
Reg. your other part, I have no illusions about Nepali politics or whatsoever. Neither do  I  dispute you that there are shortcomings in democracy but there is hope that somebody among ourselves will come forward and lead the country not like only Gyanendra and his lineage or his bharautes. Nepal is not pewa of one man or clan neither it will be....
I rest my words..
peace...

snoopy,
can you give me some examples of brainwashing Gyanendra did? i'm having hard time finding one. if you're talking about respecting him as an incarnation of Bishnu, we Hindus have believed and followed that for thousands of years. Gyanendra didn't come up with that idea, our religion did. And nobody is forcing you to worship him.

for me, brainwashing is telling poor and uneducated people that "jaatiya raajya" will protect their rights and creating chaos between different castes. perhaps your dictionary has a different meaning of brainwashing.

"there is hope that somebody among ourselves will come forward and lead the country"
now, are you saying that you are willing to come forward and be the example to us? I will and hopefully everyone else will support you. But if you are a looser like me (and the majority of Nepali population) who expects something majical like the one in Gopal P. Rimal's 'Aamako Sapana' to happen, keep your bs to yourself. Even if someone ideal comes forward do you think he/she will be allowed to lead? Haven't you seen the example of Ron Paul here in the States, the country of greatest freedom? Paul has been trying to change things around for decades. Everything bad that he said was going to happen to the States has happened/is happening, but he still doesn't get nominated, why?

Good luck changing things around in Nepal with a new ideal leader of yours. You need someone who's already established and knows how to get dirty. Political parties, including the "janabaadi" maoists, have shown that they're better at nothing but spending huge sums with zero output. Monarchy, although not the best, was at least better than what these hooligans have been doing for the last few years. I support the idea of bringing Gyanendra back, although I personally don't like him. Call me mandale, panchey, whatever...
