 Hello folks,

I have a friend who's planning on going to Nepal and teach at a remote primary/secondary school. He is from Nepal and is finishing up his bachelor's in the US. He wants to find institution/schools, possibly government or community funded schools and go teach there for a year or two. I am curious if people in Sajha know of NGOs or other organizations that can help him place in such a school. He's willing to work for the same pay as the local teachers get or do it for free if it comes down to that.

My questions to people here are:

1) What organizations should he contact to get placement in a school? Or for funding?

2) Does he need any teaching certificate or training to teach at a government school?

3) If you have experience in teaching in a remote school, what kind of issues/opportunities should he look forward to?

-FF

If he is willing to teach for free I would like to see him in my village. The school is a secondary school and it would be their great pleasure to have an American graduate volunteer over there. Please email me on Sajha inbox if he is interested.

Irrespective of any NGOs, if he wishes to volunteer for free I can help him get placed at a primary school in Illam but I am afraid they cant pay him, though I can manage him food&accomodation at my home, if intrested, do let me know
