Wanted to ask a question, if I may....where do you learn SAP Fico stuff? I've heard abt astronomical billing rates $70-$140/hr, but desi consultancies only seem to offer online courses. How'd one learn it?

You need a server access to learn SAP. They do not come in very cheap and are not available for just about anyone. There are Desi people offering real time classes as well, you just have to look for it and move to the place where the classses are happening. NJ and TX probably has offerings as such. But if you cant find one then online classes are okay too. It really depends on how hungry you are.

Don't just get lured by the bill rate and such...Companies pay anywhere from 100 - 350 to a sap consultant but what comes to your hand really depends on yourself. If you are on H1B and/or just breaking the market forget about big bucks....there will be big bucks but you will be making that for someone else.

Also, the market itself is not that easy to break into. Must have a good understanding of Accounting and Finance. Must have good understanding of programming language concept and Database. If you have all that and are willing to risk the oppurtunity cost it could be worth it.

i don't understand the part where you guys are seeking a genuine guy with greencard and no fake resume.
Someone with 7+ years of experience would already be settled in US with well paid job why would he wana leave his job and come to your company.
Also i have not seen a guy who's been here in US for over 5 years and is working under w2.
These kinds of extraordinary experience requirement help to instigate people put on fake experience on their resume. Why not rather hire a fresher guy at $40/hr and train him in the company itself as full time employee??That way you would be saving $50/hr too.

Rahul,

It could be a good deal for folks who are well settled but not well paid. 90 - 100 per hr comes up to be almost 200K per year. Now, some may think its a pretty good amount.

I agree with you that it is not a better option for everyone but it could be for some.

Why not rather hire a fresher guy at $40/hr and train him in the company itself as full time employee??That way you would be saving $50/hr too.

I agree with this too..when i have my own fortune 500 company i plan to do that. But this fortune 500 company doesn't seem to line with your belief.
