Nepal Bans Tibetan Assemblies on Dalai Lama's Birthday

Why is Nepal "hating" on Tibetans & the Dalai Lama?
I understand that the easy answer is: China

But China's policy on Tibet has always been the same. Why has Nepal's policy towards Tibetans changed? I thought that we were very Tibet/Tibetan friendly. Certainly Tibetans with their carpet factories brought a lot of money into Nepal and even spawned a whole industry in our country. Apart from appeasing China, aren't we really going to be 'black marked' in the international communities eyes for actively 'hating' on Tibetans?

Babal Khate,

Didn't you read PNBS's "Dui Dhunga Bich ko Tarool." back in school days? We are continously being shaped and moulded by the two stones above and below us. Nepal will do anything to please both the master(s), and in return, little offerings to Nepal shall be torn and eaten by Hyenas on the way.

Nepal supports one China policy. Dalai Lama wants to have independent Tibet and hence China doesn't like to see any activity of Dalai Lama. To support China, Nepal has to suppress any activity related to Dalai Lama in Nepal land. There is nothing against Tibetians.

So I guess Nepal has nothing politically/economically to gain by supporting Tibet? No incentive at all?

Even the king of human rights, USA isnt supporting Tibet. There is no economic, political or any stratigical value of tibet to anyone in the world.
