Science and History classes, I used to hang out with with Akash and Vicky. In
fact saw you through Akash’s friend’s list.

Hi Jay
I can’t believe it’s you – WOW isin’t this
Facebook a great thing? And WOW again, you look really good, I can’t even tell
it’s the same Jay with glasses and nerdy look from High School.
Anyway what are you upto? I got married last
year – no points for guessing who I married – Yes of course my boyfriend from
High School Rohan – you remember him don’t you? He was two years senior to us.
Are you married?
Over time the messages on each other’s Wall was
replaced by personal messages to emails to chat and phone calls. It just so
happened that Jay had to attend a business meeting in Kirti’s town and they
decided to meet for lunch.
J “It is so nice to meet you Kirti after such a
long time”
K “I know, you know since I got married I hardly
get a chance to meet up with friends from our school.”
J “Same here, I mean not due to marriage but my
business keeps me busy”
K “Oh the shy Jay, I have a secret – in school
we used to make fun of you behind your back for your shyness, you would
literally sweat in the company of girls and look at you now a big shot
businessman!”
J “In business I am ruthless but in when it
comes to girls I am still…..a very shy person”
K “Oh come on, any woman would love to be with
you, you just need to be more confident around them”
J “Yeah but the one I liked…is…….What would you
like to eat?”
K “ohhhhh so there is someone…….you naughty
boy!! Tell me, is she from our school?”
J “Yes, but she is married”
K “Awww…so sad, tell me her name at
least”
J “Forget it Kirti”
K “Oh Wait!!! Were you in love with
me?”
J “ Well if you really must know, I was
in love with you from the moment I saw you, I admired you for far and one day I
decided to profess my love for you, I wrote a poem and put it in an envelope
which I placed on the desk where you normally sat. I did not write my name on it
since I wanted to see your reaction first but unfortunately for me, Rohan sat on
your desk that day, he saw the envelope and gave it you and you thought it was
from Rohan. You guys started dating and I lost interest in life. I moved away to
a different city and ever since I have never been able to love another woman, I
started my software company and right now I am here attending a seminar”
K “WOW!!! I had no idea….I am so sorry Jay…….I ..I don’t know what to
say”
J “That is ok Kirti, this was perhaps not meant to be”
K “You know what……I want you to see Rohan again, he would love to see you,
it will be a big surprise, let us go to my place, he should be home around
7”
J “That is ok, maybe next time”
K “I will not take no for an answer – you ARE coming with me”
At her place they have a few drinks and talk about each other, Jay could
sense that Kirti is not very happy in her marriage, she fell in love with him
thinking he was the romantic one who wrote the poem but in he turned out to be a
guy who is more worried about his business than his wife’s feelings.
Her phone vibrates – Kirti reads her message, she looks like she is about
to cry but she composes herself –
Rohan will not be coming home tonight, looks like it is just the two of
us.
Kirti opens up to Jay and in no time they are in each other’s arms and they
spend the night together.
The next morning Jay leaves early as he had a plane to catch, Kirti thanks
him for a wonderful night
“Jay, I know what we did was wrong but it felt so right”
Jay sits in a taxi and asks to go to the airport and Kirti hugs him
In the taxi he opens his diary and makes another entry, he could not
suppress a smile
The entry reads
Victim #48. Thank you FaceBook, this ‘old class mate who was in love with
you routine’worked again!!!
He calls his wife “Honey I am sorry but the meeting lasted until 3 AM and
then the foreign delegation had to catch the flight so I dropped them on, I am
on my way home today, really missed you” he talks some more “I know
Darling…….but I promise no more out of town meetings for another month”
At the airport he scans the webpage and notices Seema from St, Mary’s High
School.
Time to send her an invite – Hi Seema, This is …….
He will be back in a month!!!
Rohan “Kirti!! Was someone here last
night?”
Kirti smiles “Yes Business Partner Rohan, some
loser was trying the ‘old class mate who was in love with me routine’ and the
gullible me fell for it”
Rohan smiles “That is all fine but you managed
to get evidence right?”
Kirti “Of course. All the hidden cameras did
their job and I could tell this loser is married so let’s just say we will not
have to work for a long long time”
