One more thing guys....If same words were used by Sekhar Suman in his late night show about Kumari...would you have still find it funny????

Colbert made fun of Nepal when former Kumari was criticized for visiting US. I found his comments derogatory and offensive. Let on one laugh at YOU on YOUR expense. Unless u r stupid..

ya i agree collbert doo al these for fun but still making fun of somebody elses culture and tradition is not a joke... a$$ H0le americans,, thats the reason Bin Laden is chasing them.. they do not have any sense of humor at all. they think they are powerful which they are not...

this guy is funny as hell.

FYI this is not the first time he cracked a joke about "Kumari". Earlier in 2007, I believe he made a similar comment when Kumari was visiting foreign nations and Nepalese priests were criticizing that. In addition, he had even mocked about the "shape" of our nation's flag.

At first, I was mad; even wrote some shit on his online blog. Then thought it's all just a part of the show.
We enjoy when they mock about india, china, mexico, canada, or even UK for that matter; but when it comes to our own nation, we feel a jerk.

Many Nepalese in USA act like painted Americans. Some of the Nepalese in this thread are hollow smarter than Americans itself.

And, if Colbert made fun/insult the Muslims like this he would be in a serious trouble.

Come'on guys, are you all that constipated like the mullahs?

Colbert was making fun of Yum Kippur.  So should all Jews in the US, Israel and rest of the world be up in arms against him?

He also creamed Dubya in that White House Correspondents' dinner.  And he was only few feet away.  Should the President put him in Gitmo for that?

Oh by the way, he was also making fun of all the reporters for being too lenient on Bush administration during the run up to Iraq war.  Perhaps they should all skewer Cobert in the Op-eds.

Moreover, we should be glad that 'Nepal' was in the news. (Yea! I said NEWS. Most of the teens get their news from The daily show and The report.)  

Any Publicity is a good a Publicity. If NEPAL gets mentioned in the cable channels more often, noone will give us a blank stare when we say we are from Nepal. Or atleast  they won't confuse us with Indian and other middle-easterns.

So, thank you Colbert. Thank you. And do mention us more often in your show. We indeed are a good laughter.

When we have as ridiculous a tradition as the "KUMARI", what else do you expect?
Colbert is awesome. You guys need to get over it and be able to say a bullshit tradition is a bullshit tradition.
