i'm going home on december 20th through Qatar airways....is there anybody who could share qatar airways experience....

I liked it after Singapore Airlines. Newer plane than Cathey Pacific, pretty looking diverce women (air hostesses), including Nepales. Nice food . after getting into Doha, felt like Ktm, we had to ride the bus to get to the terminal. Terminal is nice, find lot of Nepalese bag screener, some Nepalese security guys talking on Wakie-Takie. Bottom line is not bad. And of course, free computer (internet) at the terminal and nice couple smoking areas (unlike Singapore I walked 15-20 min. still didn't find it) and cheper duty-free shop 18$ for a black lable can't beat the price.

We Are Starting A DOH-HOU Service frm 22nd Of Nov and Guys QA will fly to JFK Instead of EWR from Oct 26th. So Lotsa alternatives to choose frm.....

I think QA is reasonable! I have travelled via QA thrice and found it good.

 

Jet- mostly new

 

Doha Transit- Its good; not big neither complicated. Plus, possibly Nepali speaking checking your passport and tickets..this way it is hassle free

 

Food: It is ok

 

(If your belly is demanding, don’t hesitate for extra- air hostesses will get you all you want! Only thing you would do is, as and when you board the jet, you will give impression that you came from US/London but not from Doha...so talk to one of them....some accented english plus scented outfit would be proofs of yourself being in WEST; mind you air hostesses are very fond of english tongue and those living somewhere in europe and america . This way you can get extra meal)

 

Air hostesses: They look ok; anyway what else you want from them other than a good smile. (i did not find any steward..so the reference i gave is about air hostesses only..in any case no offence to anyone regardless the gender)

QATAR AIRWAYS (DOHA-KTM) and (KTM-DOHA) really SUCKS

well. guys wait a sec..........Qatar airways service on the route doha-ktm and ktm-doha really sucks....unless you act like somebody said above 'as from the US/London as a Westerner'....this says it all..i.e. if you are not one you are 'mistreated' and b*tchess do it...they thinkg 'all the nepalese on board that route are 'laborerse' and they treat you like shit..real shit....unless you are a kuire or if you act like one...shame one you my friends..that you have to 'act' like a westener to 'get' the service that you have paid for...LIKE EVERYONE ELSE...be it a laborer sweating in khadi..after all he is a nepali and he has paid as much as you have paid to be on that flight. so EVERYONE DESERVES TO be TREATED EQUALLY..no matter who or what you are........

the airhostess:

1. don't even bother to smile after you cross teh gate of the plane while boarding..they don't even direct you to your seats. not even to old ppl..or first-timesr on the flight..they JUST STAND THEIR WITH THEIR LONG and UNHAPPY FACE...

2. dont' talk to you properly..even if you try to smile and talk to them in english..

3. after serving the food, they disappear. and come later only to collect the dishes. its beacus they dont' want to serve you extra water or juices..unless you act like a westerner :-) as someone said above.

4. while serving..they 'throw' the bread/buns to you..dont' even bother to place it 'decently' on the plate..god ! like beggars... the b*tches..

4. if you ask for something, they say its' finished'...and dont' even apologise.. they think we r 'begging' with thiem..b*tches they are paid by the money we pay to fly and they think we are beggars...

5. as i said. they think al the nepalese ppl onboard are laboresre and think theat because they work in 'their countyr' they want to treat us like one....sickening...

6. ITS JUST NOT FAIR GUYS..everyone who is in the flight together with you, no matter where you coem from either US or london or Rome..everyone deserves to be serviced equally and treated nicely as a 5 star airliner....but they dont' ...IT REALLY HURTS my friends..it really DOES. after all we all are Nepalese, (no matter what) on the fligth and everybody has paid to be in it..so why do we have to 'bear their 'insulting treatment'.......

and its the SAME IN THE KTM_DOHA route too........

i see there somebody writing in the name of qatar airways..please take time to read my posting..i am wriitng for real..if not. ask the ppl who fly (normally) on the route may be not from US/London..there are many other countires that this airlines serves to right ?

I pray to god and wish we could be flying our own national carrier and be a proud nepali flying on a nepali-airilnes..alas..

th SERVICE of of Qatar Airways OFFICE in KATHAMNDU IS too of no good..its even worse ..SUCKS..really..

they think all coming to their office to buy the ticket are laboreres and treat like one.....especially the lady  that sits on the 'privilege' counter no. 4..what a shame on the name of 'privilege' if they do not even know how to treat their 'customers' with respect and speak in a tone that is customer-friendly....she has her long unhappy ugly face hangign their..NOT EVEN a smile..AGAIN the bottom line is :that 'b*tch needs to be  sacked immediately or taught how to speak to customers...

QATAR AIRWAYS TREATS all the middle-class lookign NEPALESE AS LABORERS be it in  their flights or in their offices.,....................shame on you gusy/girls workign for this bullshit airlines...

you dont' have to be anyone to earn 'respet' or 'service' that you have come to pay for and are buying the ticket to fly on their airlines..and they forget that its the same money that they are paid as their salary..so they are eating our money and instead 'mistreating' us..god..

Mannnepali, somewhat obsessive with QA? I don’t want to cause offense here, but it was hard for me to swallow all you have for QA. I was just sharing my experiences. NO PROMOTION NO SELFINTEREST.

 

Every airline has plus minus but one thing about QA, and the very important one, is sure. It was operating in and out of Nepal when there were not too many doing that....Thai and Gulf were others if I am correct.

 

And it offered its service when the situations were bad in Nepal and was struggling a lot- two successive crashes, Indian airlines drama, country fighting Maoist led insurgency, operation closures of all known and recognized international airlines one after another- Singapore Airlines one of them, burning of international airlines offices in the aftermath of unfortunate slaying of Nepali in Iraq, and sadly RNA used to be mostly grounded.

 

By operating all weather all the time, QA helped Nepal (Kathmandu) to be in international aviation map. In course of its operation or rather for the sake of having workers from Nepal, it helped all those who wanted work in Qatar or somewhere in the Gulf region. And by doing so, it was helping Nepal in the end- it made sure revenue was pouring down into our country when it was in midst of the war and it badly needed money to sustain all military and civilian expenses.

 

If you want to say ‘it was doing operating in Nepal for business’....well every business entity runs after its profit its interest. Thats business ethics.

 

Well.. money is yours so would be your choice, and like you, it is up to the traveler what s/he prefers. I just felt why the f should I refrain myself when it was time to recognize QA. Im not one fkkn India bred Maoist who would harm Nepal in every possible way and still be called a nationalist.

Guyz wait a minute...Its me who is working for Qatar Airways, KTM and im not saying that its the best airline that operates to and fro KTM. But then again with the number of labor transport that we have from our country, the main thing that counts are the fares. I have myself flwn quite a time with QA and i can feel the environment inside the cabin in KTM-DOH-KTM sector. But not all the cabin crew and stewards are to blame. I am pretty sure that u guys have urself experienced the behavior of the pax (esp pax who are travelling upto DOH as a laborer). KTM-DOH doesnt have that much prblm than DOH-KTM. Its always easy to criticize but when u go deeper into the reality, there is always a bitter truth. You might have also experineced urself that even before the aircraft is taxing onto the runway no matter how much the steward are asking pax to stay into their seats until the aircraft stops, the people are already onto the aisle infront of the exit to get out from the aircraft.

And as for the meal of the aircraft, they are prepared according to the preferance of the sectors the aircraft is flying to. If u dont want the normal meal u can always request ur preferred meal when u book ur ticket.

So guyz its ur perception of the airline. I am just requesting u guyz to think abt it. Its not me who own QA but then again i m writing what i knw abt the airlines.

I am with Mannnepali. Recently I traveled to Nepal via Qater airways. London to doha there was not a problem but from doha to kathmandu, there was rubbish food even i ordered special meal, cabin crew were sucks. I had simmillar experience as Mannnepali mentioned .

Doha-ktm was okay, the service was good, i didnt find any problems wt that but o man, 90 percent of the seats in the plane were filled with nepali dajus and, I felt like i was harrassed by them.. They kept on making stupid comments, if i dint wanna eat food, they made comments, if i took a nap, they made comments, i f i read a book, they made comments, finally i was like thats it, i just pretended to laugh it off..and started the conversation by askin if they were feeling ok, lol

Very tough to get flights in and out of Kathmandu, especially during fall and winter seasons.  Maybe QA should increase the number of flights to Nepal.  RA ain't doing jackshit, not that they are capable of doing anything good, anyways.

I've traveled on Qatar to KTM couple of times. London to Doha or US to Doha service has been pretty good. It's from Doha to KTM where the service changes. Some of our nepali passengers were so rude. They got drunk, would not listen to the flight attendants, and kept on shouting. This one guy kept on standing up during landing. I was traveling with my 3-year old son and he got so scared. A drunk nepali guy kept on hassling my son with questions. It was awful. I'm not saying Qatar service is perfect but the passengers are not helping either.
