no chance, if u r just gonna use that laptop to connect to the internet,

However, if u decided to sell it on ebay or put it on sale in some website or send it to repair centre, they may gonna know the history of that laptop by its service tag.

Bro,it's not worth a risk. The point is not "if" they are going to find out, but it is "what happens" if theyfind out. You'll be destroyed if they find out that you have a stolen laptop and you got that knowlingly. This has happened to some people working in gas stations in TX when they bought stolen thingsfrom people while knowing that they were stolen. So, it is certainly not worth the risk.

lol zee dude "no chance of getting caught" think again
if the first buyer of the computer had installed anti theft program such as computrace lojack in that laptop it can be traced to you ..however it is usually year or for two cuz it cost you $$ for that...if that laptop is 3+ years old i think its safe to buy
and yea i dont recommend you to buy that (stolen) laptop..

There is a difference between truth and speculation!

If the Operating System is registered in his name and it is a deal which can't be beat, then go for it. Get the accompanying CD SWs and literature that came together when he bought the machine.

Just because the seller is black does not mean, it is necessarily stolen.
