Will  immigartion (sory i mean the custom) create  problems , if i carry more than one laptop with me? I am planing to carry 3 laptops (2 new as gifts and my own used one) from USA to Nepal via London and Bahrain.

Please drop a line, if anyone knows it.

I would recommend the following..

Dont take the boxes...

Take gift receipt

and pray to god..

 

The custom officers will surely create nuisance if you carry 3 laptops! So, better gift that to one of your friends in US itself. After all, you are gifting it anyway.
Then, you can easily take the other two!

My idea: When you get to the plane at Bahrain, try to make nepali frens at the plane, and tell them your story about the laptops. Persuade them to carry a laptop (try to make a small bag) and the officers or whoever is there won't check you or them, thinking that you guys came from Bahrain and may not have any such things heheee.......Coz when I went to nepal last year, I got a laptop on my bag and the officers didnt check any of my bags, and he asked me "bhai haru Qatar bata aako hoina ta?" and I said "yes".......good luck though and enjoy your trip........

just do what drifter said... hold one computer per person is the best.. two will not be the problem i guess

They just asked for Rs 5000.

 

If you dont follow the rules, it's good that you get penalized. that will at least set up a lesson for others.

Never mind. but u know when i  saw this thread heading, i thought you were gonna go one step ahead of Jon wud and were carrying 100s  if not thousands of laptops for students in nepalese village. LOL

 

Will it creat problems in other airports during the transit. I will pay the custom if I have to pay in Nepal.
