Hello everyone. I am in my last semester of college and about to apply for OPT. I was just curious if I take the CPT while attending school, will it affect when I apply for the OPT? Is there any corelation between CPT and OPT? All the help appreciated.

Eautaketi,

Unless you did full time CPT it doesnt affect your OPT, everything is just the normal as for someone who didn't any CPT. But if you did the full time CPT then your OPT time will be deducted by the same full time CPT you did. Part time CPT is 20 hrs or less per week and more than that is full time.

Just that simple. So Correlation sometimes exist and sometimes doesnt depending on the CPT time. Good luck for your OPT.

Can you suggest me how to approach or try for CPT.. ? Just few Tips

Sampada
