Party leaders heading for New Delhi
A number of senior leaders of eight party coalition are leaving for New Delhi on Thursday to hold talks with Indian leaders and officials about political situation of Nepal.
A delegation of senior leaders of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) led by general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal is leaving for New Delhi for a weeklong visit. The UML delegation includes Standing Committee members Khadga Prasad Oli, Jhal Nath Khanal and Bharat Mohan Adhikari.
Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chakra Prasad Bastola, NC (Democratic) leader Prakash Man Singh, Maoist leader Dinanath Sharma, United Leftist Front chief Chandra Prakash Mainali, and Communist Party of Nepal (United) leader Nabaraj Subedi are also leaving for New Delhi for similar purpose.
The leaders are expected to meet with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other senior opposition leaders.
Earlier, a delegation of senior Nepali Congress leaders including its vice president Sushil Koirala, and leaders Dr. Shekhar Koirala and Dr. Rambaran Yadav had also visited New Delhi.
Amid fluid political situation back home, there is going to be a flurry of visits by senior political leaders to New Delhi.
Reports say that the leaders will also be attending a meeting of South Asian MPs in Shimla next week. nepalnews.com sd May 31 07
