Here's another interesting piece from Google. Any scientists on Sajha interested in working for Google?

Google Copernicus Center is hiring

Google is interviewing candidates for engineering positions at our lunar hosting and research center, opening late in the spring of 2007. This unique opportunity is available only to highly-qualified individuals who are willing to relocate for an extended period of time, are in top physical condition and are capable of surviving with limited access to such modern conveniences as soy low-fat lattes, The Sopranos and a steady supply of oxygen.

The Google Copernicus Hosting Environment and Experiment in Search Engineering (G.C.H.E.E.S.E.) is a fully integrated research, development and technology facility at which Google will be conducting experiments in entropized information filtering, high-density high-delivery hosting (HiDeHiDeHo) and de-oxygenated cubicle dwelling. This center will provide a unique platform from which Google will leapfrog current terrestrial-based technologies and bring information access to new heights of utility.

रामचन्द्रे, I have one question for you: I need to set up dual boot system on my computer and since I have never done it before and more importantly, I do NOT want to lost the datas along with the operating system (media center edition) that is already on the computer, can you refer me, if you know any, websites that can walk me through the set up process so that I can have media center and vista on the same machine?

If you intend to install a Windows Version setup the windows in a different drive, a different partition of the hard-drive.....{Magic Partition is a good program if you don't have partitioned drives}, No datas will be lost, I've done it my self a million times, I've once even had 3 OS, Win 2000, XP and 2003 Server.....

Barium04, thanks for the response!

My laptop, however, has only one drive, and I was trying to prove myself a wanna-be-geek (j/k) to install Vista without buying any additional software like partition magic. I am thinking about getting external hard drive. Would it not at all be possible to have dual boot system in one hard drive?

Well, I definitely need more research..!

G'night! :)

I have never tried installing an OS on an external drive....Yes, it is possible to have dual boot system under a single drive but there is risk involved in it. When you try to install the new OS, you can install it under a different folder name...{WINDOWS is not allowed as the other OS is occupying it} but a message is displayed saying installing multiple OS under the same drive is unstable or risky, something like that........You can get Partition Magic on the Internet, you need not buy it, you can use the trial version for partition or else if you don't wish to use the trial version, there's always the easy way round, search for the pirated versions......Neways, after you do divide the primary drive into 2 without formatting, the risk of instability is reduced when you install on the newly partitioned drive........Since you are trying to install Vista, I personally would not recommend Vista as an OS, it's way too unstable, too many bugs, it is in it's initial stages and moreover many programs are not supported, Vista takes up a lot of memory for the OS itself, so only a few memory is left for other programs, and when there is an over buffer of memory, the system crashes......So, make sure before you install Vista you have enough memory in your computer......

I would rather go for Partition Magic than external drive for a laptop. According to Microsoft, external drives are only meant to store files : ) . Even though you have new machine and you can see USB or Firewire as booting sequences in the BIOS, and even though you can install Vista successfully, you just simply can't boot. It will give you blue screen all the times. I actually tried it with Vista beta, but I am pretty sure the story is still the same.

As barium04 has already mentioned, the safest way is to create the partition and install Vista there. If you can spare 30-40 GB of space in your HDD for Vista, I don't think there is any risk. Check this out too http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877_11-6157570.html

From 1969 to 1972 they landed on the moon 6 times. From 1972 to 2007 they haven't landed on moon even once. Beats me. May be it was easy to cheat then.
