i need some help guys. i am married to a us citizen. i just got done with my naturalization interview to become us citizen. it says it is approved and i should wait for N-445 oath ceremony letter. but the problem is that i am in constant stress things are not working out betwween me and my wife, i am about to file for divorce all the papers are signed and ready to be filed. If the divorce is finalize before oath ceremony will it affect my citizenship. It says you are not a u.s citizen until you take the oath ceremony. help any experts................

baru tapai ko status k ho? green card cha ki chaina? cha bhane bal matlab dinus divorce

hoina bhane... ragat ko aasu piu nus ani wait gar nus citizen ban na.....

Matthew ji thanks for th reply. i have my gc. i am in th process of of getting citizenship. that's where the problem lies. i am done with the interview, just oath taking ceremony is left , but i haven't got ant date fron ins.

You will be asked at the oath ceremony if you are still married. If you say "no" then you will not be permitted to take the oath, your application will be denied and you will have to apply again once you have been a permanent resident for 5 years. But you will not loose your green card. What city are you in? It shouldn't take very long to be notified of the oath ceremony.

mayilii ji i have been waiting for over two weeks. the average time in mn is about 1-2 months.for you oath ceremony appointment after the interview. thanks for your concern.
