if you got sony, then when you connect USB cable to your computer, your main display screen goes dark, with options you can see when you press MENU. on MENU, select PICTBRIDGE, then OK.

go back to your computer, click MY COMPUTER. if you see a camera model or external drive, you can find the images in there. copy and paste it in your drive.

Is you computer Windows 98? If it is 98, the computer may not recognize all USB connection. You will have to find the right software. The software is Sony DSC?

While I have uploaded the pictures from the same camera to the computer, I could still be wrong to input what I assume, but, maybe the software you downloaded could be corrupted.

Maybe, you want to uninstall the software, re-install it and see if that works? You can also get many softwares from .

"there are no Hi speed host controllers on this Computer"
You get above error message if you are using USB2.0 in USB1.0. Your computer supports USB1.0 and your camera works only in USB2.0.
Try to buy 2.0 PCI USB card and install in your computer...
It should work...
