So I see that there about 100 Nepalese at this university. Considering that the cost of attendance is ~$30K/year, how are most of them coping? I assume they offer decent financial aid to internationals? I ask because one of my friends is interested in a MS degree in Computer Science from there - he thinks it is high up in the ranks. Can anyone attending the univ comment on what sort of financial aid are available?

acharya,
I am from this school.
most of the nepalese are from the evening school which is not afiliated with NEU regular school.....
As far as I know this day school is one of the least generous schools. But for the mastres it is flexible enough if you have a good undergrad score. It clearly offers no scholarships for the undergrad internationals...but if you have special recommendations and awesome scores that will kinda help....i have been trying that for a couple of semesters...maintaing an A in all I have taken....now they have given me some hope for coming spring..
nepali students do well if they want to
good luck to your friend....

Are you applying as an undergrad or a graduate student?

My friend is applying for the upcoming spring semester as well - is it true that chances of getting funded in the spring is lower ?

I would have expected more responses if there are indeed 100 Nepalese attending the university. Where is everyone?

acharya, you seem to be too gullible like me!

Even though, let's say there are 100 Nepalese attending on North Eastern University (and where is it???), do you think they have ever heard of Sajha or ever browse through Sajha? And have you ever think about the authenticity of the survey posted on Sajha's Student Forum?

Well, one good suggestion is to go through the University's Students Association and search for Nepali Student Association on that particular University, and I guess, that is the best way to initiate your search rather than searching someone here. Pal, I have been through this- I found rather other Asians more friendlier than our own fellow students in college/univ. I don't mean to be negative, but hey....

Not bad one, right?

Good Luck!
