Wanted here, they are army ‘allies’ in Nepal

Sanjay SinghPosted online: Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 0000 hrsCriminals from UP, Bihar reportedly leading resistance committees against Maoists
LUCKNOW, APRIL 21: Karan Singh’s meeting with King Gyanendra grabbed all the media attention, but the Nepal crisis had another, little-known India link.

Five Maoists recently arrested by the Maharajganj police of Uttar Pradesh have claimed that criminals wanted in the state and neighbouring Bihar are now leading resistance committees against Naxalites in Nepal, reportedly aided and trained by the Royal Nepal Army (RNA).

That such anti-Maoist committees, known as Pratikar Samitis, exist, with the patronage of the RNA is an open secret. The Samitis are very active in southern Nepal, bordering Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and have seen a spurt in activity since King Gyanendra seized absolute power.

The five arrested Maoists had reportedly come to Maharajganj to eliminate some of the members of these committees, belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Maharajganj SSP Tarun Gauba confirmed that the Maoists had named Mudrika Kewal, Indrajeet Yadav, Murari, Feku, Tikat alias Nasir, Raju Pahadi, besides Munna Khan of Bihar—all wanted in cases of murder and loot here, and several carrying rewards on their heads.

The Maoists, identified as Nar Singh Kahar, Ramesh, Dili Ram Choudhari, Ram Chandra Pasi and Lal Bahadur, had been hunting for them for long.

‘‘They had received information that these criminals were hiding in a village in Nepal. They had entered the Indian territory and were hiding in the forest area of Bheriyari in Maharajganj, with the plan of attacking the Nepal village on the morning of April 13.,’’ said Gauba.

Maoists are not there for nothing to fight the king. But surely if they could not acheive the goal as they have purposed in this 21st century but will surely join the complete Democracy without the king - in a Republic Nepal - this is there final goal no matter dictatorial or Democratic.......
