I think today is the last day to announce what will happen with the TPS for Nepal. What will happen if it's not done by COB today? Will there be an automatic 6 months extension? Ki June 24 pachi yehi bhayo bhane Salvador pathaidine re?

Yes Shani as per the rule if the announcement is not done by 60 days before the expiration, it should automatically extend for 6 months.

Not sure if this admin is following the rules

Looks like they are not following the guidelines for extensions nor orderly transition. Afgan recent beneficiary of TPS is set to expire May 20th no formal orderly transition period given yet.

A TPS designation can be made for 6, 12, or 18 months at a time. At least 60 days prior to the expiration of TPS, the Secretary must decide whether to extend or terminate a designation based on the conditions in the foreign country. Decisions to begin, extend, or terminate a TPS designation must be published in the Federal Register. If an extension or termination decision is not published at least 60 days in advance of expiration, the designation is automatically extended for six months.

It is not guidelines. It is not rules. It is the law.

ShaniDev, announcing and publishing a day before would be against TPS law.

Read this from the American Immigration Council, a highly reputable source:

Hello friends,

Since extension of TPS is granted on country to country basis, is there a chance that Nepal TPS might not be extended ? If so what to do after June 24,2025 ? If extended, it is good time apply f1 so that I-539 can be approved till December 2025. What is the scope of professional job in Nepal since we worked hard in US. I do not think there are other benefits of work in use except financial part. Do we have to really worry if we have to leave after June 24 or dec 24? Regardless of professional work in US , still saving is hard isn't it ?
