One of my friends got his asylum approved. He applied for travel document. He is planning to go to leave USA for India to meet his children. He is a nepali so he has Nepalese passport.
Questions he has ( and he is getting confusing answers from the attorney as well):

1. Does he need Indian visa? Since he will be travelling with Asylee Travel Document, India requires visa to enter or exit India.
2. Can he show his Nepalese passport to exit the immigration of India and use travel document to at the US immigration while return?
3. Any possible issue?

Can anyone share your experience please? I know several of you were in same situation at some point.

Guys... lets not help in digressing from the question. Please. Respect the question, if you know the answer, contribute it, if not, lets not try to hijack the main thread.

If you have any questions besides asking for clarification, you can always post a question.

The person (my friend) has been in USA for a long time leaving his family in Nepal and he is excited to meet his family but does not want to run into any problems while returning.

Please help by answering the question or please help by not moving away from the subject.

One of my fren who served three years in ADX florence prison and got asylum approved in 2017 went Nepal via Bangkok. He just had a namesake Thailand tour package from one of the Nepali agent based in Bngkok. And from there he went Nepal.

I hope TRUMP administration CANCELS all the ones who came as DV holders and the one who got GC and citizenship from Student visa... I really hope so!!!

Guys... why do not u understand that, you were also admitted to the USA because of some US laws... You did not have in born right to be in USA... trust me... we all are immigrants.. or you parents were immigrants... and because of ur parents you became citizen of the USA...or u got DB visa or student visa, then, came to USA... then later on you became US citizen based on US law.

Now, what is the fuss that somebody is doing or walking the same path like you did or your parents did??? what is the problem???? Please explain! why so much jealousy! WHY????
Do not you feel you are a coward or a loudmouth just because you could not progress like your new buddy!
No matter what you say or think, it does not matter as long as the law which brought your existence to the USA, is there! trust me!
Work hard and work hard! make your future rather than counting on who is coming and how some one is making his status in the usa.. shame on you all!

Nevertheless, still my question is unanswered! I never wanted my post to be hijacked but appears it is getting now!!!!

Tito Satya,

Here’s my take based on my own personal experience from over five years ago.

1. Does he need Indian visa?
— No

2. Can he show his Nepalese passport to exit the immigration of India and use travel document to at the US immigration while return?
— Yes

3. Any possible issue?
— No idea

Hope it helps.

Like StatusPidit said- there's no problem with Indian immigration. India and Nepal has open border, so as long as he has Nepali passport he will be able to get in and out of Indian immigration.
I know lots of friend who has gone to India and back to USA.

My suggestion is, don't fly via China. You are required to have Indian visa if you fly having transit in any Chinese airport. Good luck and have a exciting time with your family!!!

@ Gwach If you can’t understand what I meant don’t accuse me I am fake.
Advice- I am in US still in Tourist Visa and I don’t look forward to become a citizen either, so never judge a book by it’s cover.
