Can we only buy kids or sell our own to the store as well?

There is a market because baby production never stopd (lol)
My suggestion is provide nice products in reasonable price and cater to the middle class....that way you will have good number of buyers always
The upper class either buy it from the already exisiting ones or order it from abroad.....so you shud define ur target group properly

Did you go to Nepal and have done market research? Go to Darbar Marg for high end baby clothes and toys. You get what you get in USA with almost same quality but more expensive.
Have you been to Maha Baudha ? Each and every gully is full of chinese wholesale market of baby clothes and other clothes and toys and TVs and whatever you want.
There are 5 or 6 Bhatbatenis for mid range clothing.
Every other house on the roadway in the valley, you will find clothing stores including childrens. There is H&M, Zara next to Tri Chandra campus and lot more for adults too.

By the way where are you getting the clothes from for selling? Hongkong, bangkok, china, India?

Why just open a store and why not an industry ? Industry can be of small scale as well that can later reach big markets of India (of course China is impossible at the moment). But border areas of India is much more accessible for us than from its own big cities. If you open a store, you will have to buy from India and China and you won't be able to help our country from economic prospective. So why not look into production than just consumption? Let's do something guys . I am also looking into these kinds of things, lets do it together.

RajX,

Regardless, I think it is a good idea. Like folks above mentioned, it is wise to do some market research on what is already available. I was thinking about this in context of Nepal the other day accompanying my pregnant colleague to Babies R Us store, where the theme is strictly geared towards toddlers and children. I even thought of a name then: Hami dherai sana chaun (ok it doesn't sound so great now) ;)

RajX- It is probably highly competitive business but selling kids product is not a bad business. However, as years go by, Kathmandu will be filled with a lot many old people (already is). There may not be a lot of competition in 'senior care services'.

Another biz that may work well - medical clinic (franchise would be great). People become more sick in Nepal than in US and it is 'pay the cash first and get your medicine' business. Even ambulance service may be a good business. Again, you need to have background plus interest. One business that I have seen to have worked very well for the people that I have known - selling kath or wood for home building.  But, as someone told me once- the best biz in Nepal is - Thagi
