In search of American Dream, I came to US but ended in gas station. Everyday deal with low life people who argues with you for penny, who thinks they are the only ones who knows everything, who can't even add 2+3, who keep on asking how much how much, who can't decide what they really want to purchase, who can't read the lottery rules.

Be a man! Don't be a crybaby.dont ask for mercy that you work @ gas station. If you know what kind of people you have to deal with then why don't you work yourself up to work @ Forbes top 100 companies. It's you who chose to work there, so man up to deal with it. If not stay focused and focused so you can work alongside with people like zuckerberg and gates.

I don't think anybody enjoy working in the gas station.I have seen most of people have ruined their career in gas station specially those people who came to US at mid 30s from dv lottery and others are student who don't like to study and spend 5 yrs in community college. Most of the Nepalese are like herd of sheeps who just follow their friends and relatives and don't wanna try new things.
We should use gas station job as a bridge to built another career.

You gotta have guts to succeed: everybody's broke when they are in school. Stay focused on your studies and curb your working hours--
make just enough money to get by so u can focus more on your studies.

Don't be like one of those Nepali who works 7 days a week , drink beer every night , sleep till 1pm and rushes to work everyday. If you don't have financial burden then I suggest u to work 4 or 5 days a week, spend more time in school, try to make good gpa and transfer to good university which provides in state and scholarship.
If u don't like that option just wanna quit from everything and tired of same old routine and want something different in your life think about joining the US army.you gonna experience alot of things in your life.

Well, despite being a girl, I worked in a gas station for nearly a year. I used to cry every day because of continuous standing for upto 13 hours a day. Still I somehow survived until I managed to get a job in my school for 20 hrs and then luckily got another 20 - 25 hours in a mall. After graduating, now I work for for one of the Big 4s as an audit associate!!!! You need to stay focused my fren and seek for continuous improvement. We all go through hard times but the choice is yours, if you want to stay there or you want to look forward and pull yourself out of the situation.

Noone like to work,if you ask me,from a clerk in a gas station to a senior consultant working in a rich company to an army saluting Obama--none; if and only if,they have enough currency in their accounts, enough books in their head, enough skills in their hands and are happily content with their state- of-being, but many don't.The main thing to understand is not if you are in a proper place to work or not  but the reason and purpose for why you are working such.Having a fantastic dream in the mind but getting stuck selling all those gatorade, lays and almond joys can be painful--as I experience--and frustation can brew easily if you don't understand for what purpose you are working tirelessly counting those hours. As rome was not built in a day so noone will put anybody in those comfy, swinging chair in those tall buildings as some people wish if they didn't earn it with their hard work with a desire to do something noble. Also,I read somewhere that "stormy seas makes good sailor',which I like the most and you are already in your way having a good-life if you kick all those wasted pondering about the job you happen to land this time around.Have faith and you'll see the magic.

I worked in gas station for nearly 4&1/2 years and I liked working in gas station. So many different  types of people and so many different things to talk about. I worked for nearly a year and half at night shift and I used to hate the owner but I liked the customers. After that I worked in another for nearly 2&1/2 for day shift. The owner was ok and there were some bad customers but most of them were good. I liked working there. Then I worked in another one for 6 months as grocery boy. This was also one of the best experience, the cashier and I had such a good understanding and mutual respect. The owner was also really cool.

I work part time in gas station. You will see worst side of USA, stealing, begging, drug trafficking, prostitution, you name it. But sometimes you will see nice customers that will make you forget all kind of hard time you face during work. I think it is part of experience in life.

It depends on how you take it. I literally worked for almost 5 years at a gas station and graduated from a good college. Now I am working at a good company and i feel like those hard is finally paid off. Only thing you should remember that thats just your temporary and part time job and you should give education your first priority. People start making money working at gas station and then get addicted towards it and even think that they will own a gas station in future even if their education fails. So if someone has priority in their life these things doesn't matter in life. I think working at gas station is very supportive to most people around here in USA.

I really don't have patience like you guys do. Just sitting inside the gas station booth makes me feel like suffocating.
I wish I could join army but I think I don't want to join for someone's cause or don't wana get decapitated by terrorists. Also I fear heights, I can't jump off the plane or chopper during war as I used to be very scared while riding a ferris wheel at Brikuti Mandap. I am ashamed of myself as even girls are doing skydiving and bungy jumping nowadays.I will have hearttack if i do skydiving or bungy jumping.
