 Hey guys,
I got ticket last year for minor traffic violation. I went court but nothing happened.
My Insurance company Geico increase 50 bucks per month (from 200 t0 250; full covarage)  !!!!
I am looking for other better option.
any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

The quotes seem to vary from company to company. For Eg: I saved a lot of money when I switched from Statefarm to Geico while a buddy of mine saw a significant decrease in his premium after switching to Statefarm from Geico. If you really want 'cheap' insurance, try finding a local insurance company whose coverage is limited to a certain area (like the city you live in).

By the way, 200 is too high for full coverage, let alone 250. Didn't consider insurance premium before buying 7-series, huh?

It depends on where you are, but still 200 bucks is too high. Are you a new driver? or do you have previous tickets or accidents? For full coverage, the max I paid was 95 per month as a New driver  and that was in Michigan which has no fault insurance. As riddle said, switching might decrease your premium. I also saved a bit each by switching back and forth.

I am in ny , got several tickets in 5 years (like 6-7) and one accident too. Thats why my insurance is high (200). But 250 is beyond limit.

The best thing is to shop around for insurance. One of my friends had two accidents and one ticket and his insurance skyroketted. He called several insurance companies for quotes, increased his deductible to 1000, then finally he was able to reduce it significantly, (although it was still high). Try calling the insurance companies.

If you are unable to get the rates down, the only choice left is to let the tickets expire. The tickets expire after 2 years, so once they expire your rate will go down.

Tickets expiring after 2 years is unheard of but I might be wrong.  Tickets don't expire for 5 years. At least they didn't when I was in Minnesota, prompting me to cough up a hefty sum for several years.

But yeah, just shop around.

In Michigan it did in 2 years and I have heard that it expires in 3 years in KY.

Of course, accumilation of violation POINTS on your driver license is one of the factors to  see your  insurance rate go high.

There is only one option left  for you  to have lower rate is to change the zipcode of your residents. Zipcode play huge factor in deciding to lower the insurance rate for insurance companies.

For example in Maryland

A five year experience driver with 2 points pays $180/monthly around Baltimore city.

And now he moves to Howard county, which is less than 20 mins away, nice rich neighbors, the insurance went down  to $105.

Geico said they evaluate according to zoning of zip code, that means more black and cheap area, more vandalism , more risk for insurance company.

Good luck!!!

That's true, changing zip codes also changes your premium.

Sexy in Sari in a 'sensible post of the year' shocker. Who'd have possibly imagined you were capable of doing so?

And yes, your zipcode/location also plays a huge factor. http://www.cnbc.com/id/100564898

State farm is ridiculous. AAA is better in my opinion.
I would call them or visit nearest location

Try Farmers, National, Costco and AIG. When you add renter's insurance with it, the rate goes a little cheaper...
