Turbo tax does not support 1040 NR. You can use 1040 NR paper.
If you look at 1040 NR form there is only Itemzed deduction no STANDARD DEDUCTION. You have to itemized therefore suggestt o read the instructions carefully . Take all the necessary expenses that allows you to deduct.
You can file online too.
You can deduct state and local tax you have paid.
on line 14 . Other deductions
Add
mandetory expenses ( any fees charge by college or not sure your mandetory heatlth inusrance is deductible) you have paid to COLLEGE not tution fees.
Add books and spplies you have purchased , for sure you can deduct that.
This will add up atleast couple buck on your state tax withhled.
This will jack up your itemized deduction and you will be able to get some refund.
Otherwise your deduction is limited to personal exepmtion $3800.
Most colleges and universities provide tax help to F-1 student.
