Can anyone tell me some reasons why Krishna felt it necessary to goto war with the kauravas when if he had followed Sun Tzu's thinking, it would have been better to defeat the enemy without fighting??

Because mahabharat is just a story and characters in fiction do not have to make sensible decisions.

 Gimme a platoon of army, I can win a battle because I know art of war :D 

Rid you believe in a lot of conspiracies but you believe in Mahabharat?

I take ART OF WAR of Sun Tzu also as a Theoretical stuff.
Everything he explains in that book is so good. If you take your LIFE as a WAR and read that book, you feel you should follow. But my friends, it is really hard to follow. That's the bitter truth. Therefore, there is only one OBAMA like Obama.

I can tell you why his preaching was not followed at the time of Mahabharata.
Because he didn't exist back then and didn't write his books at that time. Otherwise maybe Yudhisthir would have read it and followed his words.
