Most of the leaders in India take Nepal as a good friend, younger brother. There are parts of RAW and other politics involved, vestigial of Nehru and Gandhi doctrine, but for the most part India and Indians are our ally. Yes, they do have our water resources in their sight, but it is upto us to make it win-win for both as naturally they will be thinking mostly in terms of what's best for them. I highly doubt they think in terms of what's worst for us.

My sentiments harmonize with that of kiddo, for people who have never been to India, have never understood Indians, or do not understand the geo-politics and socio-economics clearly, they would always consider India as our arch nemesis. Those are the same type of individuals who support Donald Trump in America - the right wing jingoists, who blame everything on Mexican and Muslims at the drop of the hat and preserve their gun trotting American pride.

I would like to believe we elite Nepalese are at least better than that.

There are some Indians who are oblivious about Nepal’s existence, only because they are struggling to find their own among a population of more than a Billion. We Nepalese take pride to highlight that with as a threat to our sovereignty with emotions oh so high, wish we took pride in any endeavors that would make us better than India.

Modi is a hardliner, he wants Nepal as the only Hindu nation in the world. He is Islam hating, Hinduism espousing purest conservative of all, and his agenda is to make Nepal his ally, subserviently so, to throw its weight in a subcontinent when Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma, China and Sri Lanka, all, have, more or less proven to be an adversaries. Glad it backfired.
RAW has its own agenda, just like ISI, CIA, Mossad and other few intelligence agencies that wants to secure its border first and then encroach into their neighbors, or at least have an ulterior motive on their well-being. This is nothing new and we hate RAW alright.

Now there were few other visionaries, the likes of Ballab bhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Nehrus’ clan who wanted to expand India’s borders and engulf neighboring nations, they succeeded with Sikkim, but Nepal was a whole different story.

What I mentioned above gives us all good reasons to hate India, doesn’t it?

But wait a second, because they do not comprise India, they are only one small sect of the population that has their own hidden agenda that wants to bully us. All others do not have time to even think about us, let alone hate us. Leaders of Janata dal, Samajwaadi party, even some leaders of Congress, poets and artists, scholars and professors and common indian denizens fondly consider us as brothers who share similar creed and culture.

Sadly we only like to listen what fuels our hate mongering self the best, and like I mentioned, which makes our emotions run high.

Only because some lawmakers are pushing our button doesn’t make an entire India our enemy, if that were true we would be thinking like zealots like Donald Trump and Rush Limbaugh, who want to eliminate every muslim from the face of the earth.

If you want to argue, kindly reply in my other thread. I struggle to write in English, I can get my point across more effectively in Nepali. :)

@underwear "I would like to believe we elite Nepalese are at least better than that.".

So you are an elitest, huh? Better than whom? Better than the poor hillbilly nepalese that you elitest consider to be "pakhey" and "unpadh"?
Get in the line, we will drag you to the guillotine.

@hurray, I think you are taking that sentence out of context and misinterpreting it. Let's not start unnecessary name-calling.

Left sajha for an hour and, Lo and Behold, as you see, the name calling has begun as expected.

To your point hurray, I prefer noose. Always hated blood.

You took one point, just one point out of the context like MinNpl mentioned, twisted it and used it against me but had nothing to say to the entire post. Applause! Someone needs to learn how to read the fine lines from you my brother. With that being said, I wonder why a post which has no tirades, cuss words and vile would be subjected to persecution when you are mum on my other threads which are loatheful and detestable.

When I said 'us' as elite, I meant people in sajha, someone like you, who are always full of great ideas and insights which, unfortunately are never materialized. I am a 'paakhe' sire, a hillbilly who barely knows English (referring to google as I type my words mind you) and is only known for speaking foul words, but when it comes to spreading love and awareness, in the foulest and bitterest of words, I consider myself better than most vile spreading elites.

Took me almost half hour to write this, hope you will correct my grammar and spellings.

Peace.

@underwear.
Don't know about elitist theory but I agree with every thing else you said.
People will attack you, please don't pay attention. It will be hard to change the hardliners, much like, your example, change Trump lovers.
Very well said, you actually said it better than I.

I, personally, got a whole new outlook on India and Indians from what @Kiddo and @Underwear posted. Thanks for sharing your opinions.

@Underwear, I hope a few uncalled-for attacks won't deter you from sharing your intellectual thoughts in the future.

Thank you kiddo and MinNpl, there were many ways to put forth an argument, hate begets more hate, therefore I tried to be as ambivalent and equivocal when I replied on this post (a sharp contrast to my other personality). The reason - I prefer being a jerk than being a racist.

We do have issues with Modi's Hindu zealots and few people in New Delhi, RAW's conspiracy and Nehru's scions and followers, but to blame the entire population of more than a billion is a little juvenile to say the least.

Bairaghi, once again, come with better arsenals to provoke me.

So here it is @underwear :
You do not have, huncha ni, this "IT" factor. U might be educated, but education can't buy intelligence. i m sure u have seen the professors back in the college days, professors who can do what they are supposed to do alright and u still think "dude i feel sorry for ur dumb miserable life". then there are professors who can think one step ahead of you and u r like WOW.
@underwear i have to give one thing to u. u can write. u should have been a writer. u would have been a good writer, though very top ones need meaning in their story which i highly doubt u have in urs. ke garnu ta Nepal ma janmiyou. sabai baat SLC sakau, isc pada, ani ki ta doctor ki ta engineer banna bhaane aadesh. timro tyo writer timi bhitrai marera gayo. ani yaha aayera IT ko kuwa ma.
read some psychology and history books. it will greatly help u. then u can try ur hand at Poker again. last reminder, when u write,u should be able to say ur whole story in one sentence if u need to. maile ta suneko thiye writers get this idea abt their story in one revealing line, in AHA moment, then they expand around it. timro ta ulto jasto lagyo. u build story and then struggle to find that AHA title. u forget track of where u r going, east? west? north? south? or are we in vacuum ? life must be miserable that way. is it ?

One good Indian leader steps out of his car in Baneshwor and greets the nepalis passerbys and their hearts melt like ice cream in Delhi's summer heat. One good Indian leader utters few nepali words in nepali parliament and the whole country goes gaga over it.
"And one good Indian leader talks about Nepal in parliament and everyone in sajha goes........"

And what's the famous saying in Nepal, "mareko indian ley jeudo nepali lai betcha"?

My point in one line ?? PATRIOTISM.
Most of nepalis might have nothing against indians, but our countries are at war right now. And country comes first. We call ourselves Nepalis only because there is Nepal. So stop singing praise for indians. Lets talk about our fellow nepalese problems and help as much as we can. By u guys logic, most of indians have nothing against most of pakistanis, still they dont sing praise for others.
